My Blue Lacquer - Purple Nerple

Happy Saturday and Happy New Years Eve!

Today I wanted to pick a sparkly party mani to show you, so I went with Beanie's Purple Nerple. I know you all can tell how much I love her frankens from my posts on Blue Sangwich and Las Vegas Watermelon, so my love for Purple Nerple is big too! She is adding new glitters in the new year - I can't WAIT! Here we go!

Purple Nerple is a very sheer polish, so I didn't bother piling on layer after layer. This baby was born to layer over! This time I chose Barielle's Grape Escape. I thought they matched perfectly! Purple Nerple is what I consider to be the perfect "grape purple" polish. Let me just say that anytime you throw in HUGE HEX GLITTER into the mix, my heart naturally skips a beat and I fall in love. In this case, Beanie added them along with smaller hex glitter and even smaller circular holo glitter. It was a little hard to fish out the large pieces, but not as hard as it normally can be. This is two coats over two coats of Grape Escape.

Who doesn't love large hex goodness??

Old and New: Bath & Body Works Color Drops polish in light green & mini Hard Candy Polish in Purple

TGIF and Happy New Years weekend, girls!

Today I have an AMAZING vintage polish. My lovely friend Jacqui texted me to tell me to check eBay - they had vintage Bath and Body Works polishes!!!! I did what I had to do of course - I bought up the rest that were left. What else was a girl to do?? :P Does anyone else remember these Color Drops? They came with little charms! Jacqui says she may have some on a key-chain back at home - hope you find them girl! They didn't come with names/stickers, so we'll just call this light green.

Are you completely amazed and totally remembering these bad boys? AND are you drooling over that pink shimmer??? GOOD, GOOD, & GOOD! I ordered four of these gems and they ALL have amazing shimmer. My jaw freakin dropped, dude. Next time I may layer this polish, but for the first round trying it out I went with three coats. Green polish is among my all-time favorites and this is on the top of that list. :D

I almost have no words.

Next up I have a polish I am much, much less thrilled about. Look, I am a huge Hard Candy fan girl. Vintage Hard Candy...mostly. I've come across a few from the WalMart variety that I'm found of, but I fall head over heels over the vintage lovlies. As a teenager I saved up my money for a trip to Sephora for one. (NO I didn't save any but ONE. I kick myself every day.) Anyhoo, I grabbed four of the minis for $1 at WalMart and this is the first I've tried. Man I hope the other three are better. Hard Candy - WHAT ARE YOU DOING, MAN??? >:/

Let me start. The color? I love. The formula. Awful. Awful. Awful. Clumpy. Bubbly. And it actually split while drying like a crackle polish. HUH??? Come on Hard Candy, be what you used to be. Don't do this to us.

CoverGirl Frost Slicks Limited Edition in Gold Front and Loreal Resist & Shine In Black Gloss

Hello polish lovers!

Today is my day off! After this post is up - it's time to swatch, swatch, swatch! Today I have a lovely polish from my EPIC swap with my fellow blogger and lovely friend Esther and a CoverGirl vintage glitter. I am on a mission to own each and every Frost Slicks. I have quite the eBay order on it's way to me. Sorry wallet. :P Here we go!

Lately I have been on a vintage glitter kick. Big time! After finding this Frost Slicks glitter on a blog sale, I've made it my mission to hunt down as many as I can. Ah, polish addiction, you got me again. Gold Front is a golden tinted clear base loaded with golden holo glitter. Both festive and amazing. I just didn't photograph nearly as amazing as it was in person. One coat may not look like much in my swatches, but it was festive and amazing in person. Such a lovely glitter! Next time I'll go for two. :)

Next up I have a Loreal brand I'm trying for the very first time thanks to Esther. Thanks again, girl! I didn't see a name on the bottle, so I'll just call it #734. #734 is a deep blackened-based burgundy polish with amazing red shimmer. Totally festive and vampy! Sold! The formula was highly pigmented. This is two coats.

See now, this is why I have a glitter addiction.

Essence Vampire's Love Collection Part 3: Hunt Me If You Can

Happy Hump Day!

Today I have the last of the Essence Vampire's Love Collection. And I saved the best for last! This is the PERFECT example of loving something so much after you thought it would be your least favorite. I cannot get enough of this polish. I wish I had two more. Or three more. :P Want to see why? Of course you do!

Hunt Me If You Can was the polish I was the least excited about in this whole collection. In the promo pics it looked like your typical black polish with silver shimmer. To me - IT IS SO MUCH MORE! First of all - the formula was perfection. Serious perfection. Smooth as can be and almost a one coater. The silver shimmer is just so stunning it really POPS! I can picture myself reaching for this polish again and again. *sighs* I miss wearing it just looking at these pics. :D

Essence Vampire's Love Collection Part 2: The Dawn Is Broken & Gold Old Buffy

Hi!

Today I have two more of lovely polishes from Essences Vampires Love Collection. As I know I said before, Essence is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands and my stash has been growing! Today I have The Dawn Is Broken and Gold Old Buffy. As a die-hard Buffy the Vampire Slayer freak - I naturally must have every single polish with the name Buffy in it. So I was sucked in! :P

First up is The Dawn Is Broken -

This polish was one of the polishes I was most excited about in this collection. It looks AMAZING in the bottle! A light grey creme polish with slight silver shimmer and micro-fine black glitter. Just as the first two, smooth as butter. As amazing as it is, it sadly looks awful with my skin tone. *cries* I love love it even though it doesn't love me! :P

Awesome, right?

Next up is my favorite heroine's namesake - Gold Old Buffy.

This polish is freakin amazing! I tried to capture Gold Old Buffy in different lighting so you can see it in all it's golden shimmer glory! Yes, this is a close dupe for Owl's Night - but the base is darker and the golden flakes are chunkier. I love it. So much that after swatching it I wore it as a full mani. Of all the Vampires Love polishes, this was the sheerest surprisingly. It completely evened out after two coats. This polish would make Buffy herself proud.

Essence Vampires Love Collection Part 1: Into The Dark & True Love

Hey girls!

I hope some of you have the day off today, I sure don't but I know lots of people are lucky to get an extra day for the holiday season! Today I have the first set of polishes from the Essence's amazing Vampires Love collection. I had THE BIGGEST lemming for this collection from the minute I started seeing swatches. Lucky girl I am my lovely polish friend Sabine swapped these with me all the way from Germany. Thanks again doll! I couldn't be happier! <3

First up we have Into The Dark!

Into The Dark had a seriously perfect formula, as did most of this collection. Smooth as butter and almost a one coater. It was a breeze! Into The Dark is a dusty medium blue creme polish with micro-fine silver shimmer. What can I say? Love it. Just love it.
Great fall color to me. This is two coats.

Shimmer!

Next up we have True Love!

True Love is amazing. I mean, just look at it! I instantly knew I would love this color from the promo pics and early swatches I saw. Once again, formula was easy and perfection and I could have stopped at one coat but ended up doing two. True love is a metallic purple polish with magenta micro-fine shimmer. What a romantic, vampy polish! Yet again, in love!

Revlon - Whimsical

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Sorry it took so long to get this post up, but I worked 10 hours Christmas Eve and the fiance and I exchanged presents. He really is amazing - I got a red Helmer (the boy listens!) an iPhone, and a Steve Madden wallet. I'm a lucky, lucky girl! Love you, Jeff! I just got off work today and am really excited to show off this lovely Glitter In The Air Dupe - Whimsical from Revlon. I know everyone is so excited over this polish! I've had a lemming for GITA FOREVER and thanks to Jacqui my lemming is no more! Thanks again, love! <3

This is two coats of Whimsical over two coats of Etude House's BL501. As much as I really like this combo, I think next time I'm going to go for a more grey-toned light blue. Either way, this is such a "Dana polish". I love polishes with a whimsical feel to them. I need three gallons of this polish. THREE. Whimsical is a VERY sheer light blue polish with fine shimmer and light pink and baby blue hex glitter. *sighs* So in love with this polish. :)

Whimsical wonderland.
