L'Oreal Laquiresist - Moon Dazzle

HAPPY SUNDAY! Sorry I've been MIA the past few days, preparing for the holidays kinda got in the way.

Remember on my last post I said I needed to show off more L'Oreals? Let's start today! Today I have my newest L'Oreal I've bought to show off - Moon Dazzle. I was ECSTATIC to find this gem on a blog sale and got to check it off my wishlist! Moon Dazzle isn't unique in a certain way - silver glitter, but it's vintage, L'Oreal, rare, and glitter. WHAT's NOT TO LOVE?! Now I just need to get my hands on it's sister, Star Dazzle. (Gold glitter.) This is two coats over CoverGirl Plum Fairy.

Have a fantastic Sunday!

L'Oreal - Blue Metal

Hello!

I really need to start swatching more of my vintage L'Oreals. I have some really GREAT ones in my stash and I really don't give them enough time on my fingertips or on my blog.  I need to fix that STAT.

Today I have Blue Metal to share. HOLY METALLIC BLUE POLISH. WOWZA! I knew this was going to be beautiful on the nail, but MAN it's so amazing and in-your-face! JUST LOOK AT IT! Blue Metal has that perfect mixture of being deep and dark, yet having that bright shimmer in it! This is two coats. So amazing. GAH.

What are your fave metallic blues?

L'Oreal Jet Set Shine - Crushed Opal

Hey there, dolls!

Happy Sunday! Anyone have anything fun planned for today? I'm meeting a friend at IHop for brunch, going grocery shopping, and going to see The Hobbit. All in all, a really fun day indeed!

Today a have a VHTF vintage L'Oreal to share, Crushed Opal. I have three of these L'Oreal flakies, and as a collector I love owning them knowing they were made YEARS before flakies were all the rage! These might even be some of the very first flakies? Anyone know anything that I don't?

Crushed Opal is your typical flaky that flashes a rainbow of colors, mostly resting on green, purple, and orange. Think Finger Paints Twisted. I loved the wide brush on this. This is two coats over L'Oreal Blue Metal.

Have a great Sunday!

L'Oreal - Brit Invasion

Hello there!

Today I a new L'Oreal polish to share, Brit Invasion. I feel like I never see new L'Oreal polish displays here in Virginia Beach! I don't know why, I see everything else as it comes out. Hmmm.... Anyhoo, this is from their London Fall LE collection. Paulina luckily came to my rescue! She sent this along with lots of other goodies, thanks again, babe! Make sure you check out her blog, The Gore Princess

Brit Invasion in a milky medium chocolate brown/taupe polish with with amazing gold shimmer. Such a warm and fuzzy color LOL if that makes sense! Great for winter more so than fall in my opinion. Formula was really great, this is two coats.

I didn't notice the sparse green glitter in there as well until I saw this macro shot!
Anyone end up snatching this up as well?

Retro Sunday Squared with The Scholarly Nail - Vintage L'Oreals.... & IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

It's that time again! Retro Sunday Squared! oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I'm the big 2-8. Ugh, thirty is creeping up on me.

Jacqui and I picked vintage L'Oreal polishes to share today. It's very fitting since she gifted me a BUNCH recently and it gives me an opportunity to show off two of them! L'Oreal has so many amazing vintage polishes out there, many of their glitter will forever be high on my wish list! Today I have two great ones to share, so let's start things off with Black Emerald.

Black Emerald is from their Colour Endure line. Holy cow, my lil' green polish lovin' heart is going to burst out of it's chest. WWWOOOWWW! Jacqui's you're my hero. Seriously. My hero. I am so in love with this polish! It's name does it justice, a blackened emerald green shimmer polish. As much as I drool over the outcome, the formula was tricky and difficult. I had to use the right base coat for it to lay even and it was very runny. Pooling aside, it ended beautifully. Two coats.

Next up I have quite the polish to share. When I unwrapped this bad boy I couldn't believe my eyes! There's no name on this polish like a good majority of vintage L'Oreal's - so we're just going to call it by it's number, 405. Oh, 405. Where do I start? Have you ever had and/or seen a blood orange? (If not Google it now, then come right back.) This polish mimics it's color perfectly, a red red jelly that leans to the orange side. What could make that even better? Why add orange micro glitter of course! Two coats of amazing.

Don't forget to check out Jacqui's blog!

Layering Fun - L'Oreal Crushed Amethyst & BYS Amethyst Metallic

TGIF!

For those of you who follow me on Intagram, I debuted today's manicure last week and it was a HIT! Here it is!!! I present to you, L'Oreal's Crushed Amethyst!

Now, before all of the crazy flaky maddness of late, years ago (mid 2000's? Right? Wrong?) L'Oreal rocked it with their flaky goodness! I have three to share (the others I will keep under wraps until it's time to share :P) but today we will start with this purple beauty. Crushed Amethyst starts off with a sheer lavender base LOADED with iridescent purple flakies that flash to a bright blue. OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE this combo! This is two coats over BYS Amethyst Metallic up next.

BYS Metallic is yet another great polish sent to me by the ever-so-amazing Lauren. I LOVE metallic line! The formula was a little thin, but not unmanageable. Three coats. <3

Have a great day! :)

Old and New - L'Oreal Jet Set Boogie & Zoya Ivanka

Hey girls!

It's time yet again for an Old and New post, and I've got some great polishes to share today. I have another polish to share from my blog sale order from Kaz, and today it's a L'Oreal Jet Set polish, Boogie. (BTW - being a HUGE Nightmare Before Christmas fan, the name alone makes me smile!) Boogie is a great black polish with silver shimmer that leans to a slight green/purple shimmer. It doesn't translate to the nail as strong as it does in the bottle, but still awesome! Two smooth coats.

For my New polish I have a Zoya that came out in their Summer 2011 collection that has seen sitting in my Helmer this whole time! It's a great vibrant green glass-flecked green polish with an added twist! In the bottle is has an oil-slick duochrome that comes out! (See bottle shot after swatches) So cool! This is two coats.

Do you have any polishes with an added punch in the bottle? :)

Old and New - L'oreal Bijou Facets & B. Girlie & L.A. Colors Cactus

Happy Monday, loves!

Today I have another Old and New post to share - this time I'm starting off with one of L'real's Bijou Facets, B. Girlie. I've been slowly trying to collect a good amount of this little bottles, but they're harder to come by for a decent price when not found on blog sales - which is where I got mine! :) B. Girlie is much lighter of a bubblegum pink than I initially thought it would be, but there was also an added twist I didn't expect! - Hair-thin micro glitter! It's hard to see at first glance in the bottle, but it's fascinating to look at! It's not bar-glitter, I can't help but call it hair-glitter. LOL! :D

See what I mean?
Next up I have an L.A. Colors polish to share - Cactus. I recently found a bunch of these polishes at a dollar store back home. I found an entire chrome collection (eeek!) and this awesome green polish! Cactus is a deep olive green polish LOADED with green and gold shimmer. I truly found a gem with this polish! LOVE! I just melt for these kinds of greens! This is three coats and the formula was pleasant to work with.

Amazing, right?
Have a great Monday!

Old and New - Maybelline Jean Jacket & L'oreal VIP Status

Hello!

I'm sitting on my bed eating Nestle chocolate chips, drinking pink lemonade, and re-watching season one of True Blood. This is one awesome evening indeed! :D Hoyt looks so young! Anyhoo, today I have two more amazing polishes to share in an Old and New post, and first up is a Maybelline - Jean Jacket. I don't know exactly why, but I love denim inspired polishes lately. Funny thing since, to be honest, I don't really wear jeans much. I'm more of a dress and leggings/tights kinda gal. Jean Jacket is a great blue metallic polish with purple shimmer. Definitely has the unwashed new jean feel to it. Two coats.

Next up I have another polish from L'oreal's new line, VIP Status. This is the one polish I KNEW I had to have right away and these swatches are evidence why! VIP Status is a teal(ish) frosty shimmer polish with a blackened base to it. Kind of reminds me of a teal version of Revlon's Black With Envy. Maybe not quite, but it reminded me of that anyway. Application pretty good and I really love the end result of this polish. I think it's a must have for polish collectors. Two coats.

Have a kick a$$ day! <3Dana
