Essence LOL

Hello again!

Two posts two days in a row?! NO WAY! I'm trying really hard to get back into the swing of nail blogging again, but I'm super frustrated that I can't find the right lighting situation like I had before. Today's pics are all with flash.

Today I have an Essence polish to share, and it's a Shrek green neon! I love these quirky greens for summer time, they're so fun and bright! I like Essence's new brush and the application was pretty good. My only complaint is that it chipped like the night I painted my nails. I don't think Essence's polish does well on my nails. This is two coats.

Happy Friday!

Essence Snow White Collection Part 4: Grumpy & Happy

Good morning!

Today I have the remaining two dwarfs I needed to complete my Essence Snow White collection! I know I'm a few weeks late, but here they are! Thanks again, Sabine - you're the BEST!

First up I have Grumpy. AH-MAZ-ING blue! Reminds me of Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. It's just perfect. Not a grumpy color one bit LOL! :P The formula was on point as well, this is two smooth coats.

Next up I have Happy, a yummy, creamy butterscotch yellow creme polish. It's actually really lovely and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would! Two buttery smooth coats.

Did I ever mention how much I love Essence polishes? :)

Essence Snow White Collection Part 3: The Huntsman, Snow White, & Bashful

Hi there!

It's time for day 3 of the Snow White Collection!

Today's glitter is definitely the unique one of the bunch - The Huntsman. It was very thick, but in no way unmanageable. There are a few things I just LOVE about this polish - it has two tones of gold in the glitter. The micro glitter is a darker gold then the hex glitter, which is lighter. Thrown is the mix are irregular rectangular/triangular shards of polish that make it the unique beauty it is. This is two coats over Snow White.

We all know how much I love red polish. It's my favorite right under green. I knew there was a red in this collection, but I didn't know it was a JELLY!!! Oh I still am so excited about this polish! Snow White is a vibrant tomato red polish that has a great tone for summer. Reds tend to look great with my skin tone (just sayin' LOL :P) and this one is no exception. Three coats, although next time I will wear it with two. I want the jellyness to shine through a little more.

Now. Here is my about FAVORITE polish in the entire stinking collection - Bashful. The promo pics for this collection were so misleading since they didn't show off any of the glitters or shimmers. Of course I knew there was a green, but what I DIDN'T know was it had gold shimmer!!! Formula was as perfect Sneezy. Like Buttah! Two coats. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

OMG. RIIIGHT?!
Only one day left!

Essence Snow White Collection Part 2: Prince Charming, Sleepy, & Sneezy

Hello again!

It's time for day two for Essence's Snow White Collection!

First up for today's post I have my favorite glitter topcoat from the collection, Prince Charming. The formula was the best with this one. I love the whimsical feel this polish lends to the mix, it definitively reminds me of Prince Charming for sure! This clear-based polish starts off with fine silver and holo glitter with large blue hex glitter. This is one coat over Sleepy.

And now we have Sleepy, a pastel blue polish with bright blue shimmer swimming within. I love the color, reminds me of Spring, but the formula was tough. Without the right base coat (I used Seche Base) It spotted like that new OPI polish. This is three coats for evenness.

SHIMMAH!
Next I have Sneezy, a fantastic cocoa brown polish with silver micro fine glitter. Formula was ON POINT. PERFECT. This polish reminds me of smooth milk chocolate. I really like this one. :)

Yummy!
Stay tuned for day 3!

Essence Snow White Collection Part 1: Evil Queen, Dopey, & Doc

Hey polish lovahs!

Today starts day one of four where I get to show off the entire Snow White Collection by Essence! It's been a long time as a vintage polish collector that I've fallen head over heels for a collection and gotten each and every polish. (Although HELLLLO Zoya Diva Collection! You will all be mine!) I'm one of the biggest Disney fans out there, so of course this was a must for me! The lovely and always amazing Sabine hunted down each and every one for me - I'm so thankful! *Sending Sabine a big virtual hug* Thanks again, girl!

First up for today I have a glitter to share - Evil Queen. Evil Queen is a clear-based polish with large purple hex glitter. I love the brushes on the glitters for all of them, one clean swoop has my nail covered. The glitter is a litter sparse on this one, I had to move the glitter around to place them where I wanted. I thought it turned out great! This is only one coat over Dopey- who's up next!

Dopey has been and will always remain as one of my favorite Disney characters to date! He's just so goofy and lovable. Dopey in this case is a pale, pastel lavender polish with silver micro glitter. I loved the formula on almost all of these, but this one seriously tested my patience. It was soooo runny! It pooled and took three coats to get it to where you see here. Not that it really matters - just LOOK how beautiful it is!

GLITTAH!
Next up I have Doc. I love me a good bright orange creme polish and this does not disappoint! The formula on this was great. I'm thinking pedicure color for sure! Two coats.

I hope you enjoyed day one - stay tuned for 2 through 4!

Layering Fun - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Ruby Slippers & Essence Eclipse Thirsty

WHAT UP?!

I hope you're all having great so far. Today I have an AWESOME (yep, tooting my own horn here.) layering combo I sported last week. I have become absolutely obsessed with Sally Hansen Hard As Nails glitters. Hard core. Ruby slippers is one of the newer to my stash. It is a clear-based polish LOADED with micro-fine red glitter with very sparse but really awesome holo glitter. This is one coat, yes only one!, over Essence's Thirsty. I want to wear this combo all over again!

Underneath the red glitter goodness I wore Thirsty from Essence's Eclipse collection. I love Twilight so I was so excited to get the complete collection. Thirsty is a fantastic blood red polish. Pretty smooth formula. It took three coats to even out.

Do you like this layering combo?

Layering Fun - Lancome Vernis Absolu Boogie Nights & Essense Denim Wanted! Fivepocket Grey

*Jumps up and down while waving*

I'm going to try my best not to ramble on during this post, but I'm so exited about this combo. :D Oh, Lancome. I only have a few of your polishes, but this may very well be the crown jewel of what I have! This, ladies and gentlemen (maybe gentlemen? Hmm.....) is Boogie Nights. I know nothing about this polish except I saw it on Kaz's blog when I very first got into polish, and came across it on a blog sale a few months back. It's AH-MAZ-ZING. It's a mini-sized Lancome, and I may just up my left big toe for a full-size. Boogie Nights starts off with a dusty grey sheer base, jam-packed with small grey glitter. It shines in such a unique way. I have nothing else remotely close in my stash! Oh, does it sparkle and shine. *Fans myself* GAWD. LOVE. Two coats over Essence Denim Wanted! Fivepocket Grey.

Riiiiiiight?!
Here are some quick shots of the grey creme polish underneath the masterpiece, Essence Denim Wanted!'s Fivepocket Grey. I love this color, but I HATE HATE HATE this brush. It was so soft and flimsy it was hard to control. SUCKED. Ah well, still turned out great! Two coats shown.

Amazing right?!

Old and New - Maybelline Ultra Lasting Racing Green & Essence Fairytale's Tinka's Dress

Happy Hump Day!

Today I have yet another Old and New post to share and I'm starting out with a great one indeed! I normally try keep my spending low on eBay for Maybelline's, but I couldn't resist when I saw Racing Green from a UK seller. I am almost embarrassed how cheap I got the polish and how much more shipping was. *blushes* Moving right along... IT WAS WORTH IT! We all know my green polish obsession knows no bounds, and I melted when I swatched this beauty. Deep, shimmery, rich army green and almost a one coater! I went with two of course, and topcoat. LOVE!!!!!!

Next up I have a polish from Essence's Fairytale collection, Tinka's Dress. As an adult I still have a big love for all things Fairytale. (Shrek and Disney own my heart.) Tinka's Dress is a shimmery pinky/peach polish that I really enjoy with my skin-tone! This is three thin coats.

Have a great day!

Essence Crazy Good Times part 3 - Glitterastic & Colourbration

It's time for the final two polishes from Essence's Crazy Good Times collection. I had so much fun swatching each and every polish and am so lucky to have received them all! Oh Essence, you steal my heart over and over again! First up for today is Glitterastic - sparkly and wonderful multi sized silver glitter in a clear base. I know there's many dupes floating around out there, but it's the first I own and I can't wait to layer it! This is three coats.

Last but not least I have the lone green in the bunch, Colourbration. I love anything lime green having to do with nails so I was most excited about this one initially. Once I put in on, it look on a yellow shimmer I love! Formula was a little thick on this one, but who CARES with a fantastic funky polish like this?!? LOVE! Three coats.

Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did!
