Pretty Serious Cosmetics - Seasonal Sunset

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Today I have my final polish I purchased from Pretty Serious's Christmas Without Snow collection - Seasonal Sunset. Hummina hummina hummina! WOWZA, BABY! I knew this was on my must-have list and I'm so glad I was proved right! If there's two three things that Pretty Serious knocks out of the ball park, it's red, green, and glitter. They remain the tops in my stash and true loves of polish!

Seasonal Sunset is a rusty red jelly based polish just BURSTING with copper and red irregular glitter. It burns from within! What an amazing polish with an equally amazing name! It's ON FIRE! I think this is a perfect holiday polish with a splash of sass! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! Formula, as we've all come to know and love from Pretty Serious, was perfection. This is three thin coats.

Knocked me off my seat!

Moodies by Nubar

Well fancy meeting you here! :P

Today I have some really fun Nubars to share! Nubar is a brand that I've yet to become really familiar with. Other than 2010, these are the only ones I own. Not sure why.... LOL! I knew there were so many great polishes they used to make and discontinued with their old bottle shape. There are the Shocks and Spells, (I. Need. ALL. The. Shocks. Kaz has some great swatches!) I knew there were Moodies floating around as well, but had never seen these old shapes floating around out there on eBay or elsewhere. I found these on a blog sale. (Although they are sold on this site I just found out.) If I weren't on an official low-buy they would have been bought by now.

Now these don't have names, so I'm just calling them Copper Moodie and Mauve Moodie. Just like the older China Glaze mood polishes, I think with age the mood changing just isn't popping anymore. Ah well, still vintage Nubar and awesome. First up we have Copper Moodie. When I first saw this metallic lovely I knew I would love it and I was right! Copper shimmer in a deep red/copper base is a beautiful thing. Three coats.

Next up we have Mauve Moodie. I was hesitant to order this only with Copper Moodie, but ultimately I knew I would regret it and pulled the trigger. A pale mauve/pink and slightly frosty polish, Mauve Moodie, is a classy and pretty polish and I actually really love it! This is two coats.

Anyone else own any vintage Nubars?

Sephora by OPI - Rumba Romance

Good morning!

I've been shopping in my stash a lot lately and trying (.....trying...kind of failing....) not to buy as much. In my OPI Helmer drawer I found this copper/gold beauty and remembered buying it right before I moved from Cleveland. I immediately remembered reading raves reviews on Rumba Romance and just to finally swatched it. OMG. OMG. OMG. This baby GLOWS. I MEAN GLOWS! This was supposed to be the first polish I swatched but I loved it so dang much that I put off my swatch-a-thon for two days so I could stare at it in the sun. In the words of Jacqui, it's amazeballs! This is three coats. Totally worth every stinkin one. :D

Do you have any polishes that glows that you can't get enough of?

Old and New - Avon Color Last Mosaic Plum & Savvy Femme Couture Berry Slush

Greetings, fellow polish addicts!

Today I'm starting this post off right with my old polish. I don't own many Avon polishes, not many of them suite my fancy so I think including this one I have three? Four? Either way, after falling in love with this gem, it's time I gave Avon a closer look. I bring to you Mosaic Plum! Mosaic Plum is well, a plum polish (duh!) with a copper shimmer that really sets this polish on FIRE! The color combo and the effects it has are phenomenal! I bought it from eBay. I was the only one bidding and I think with shipping I paid a whopping three bucks. Two coats. Still drooling. :P

For the new section for today I have my lone Savvy Femme Couture polish to share. I bought Berry Slush from Sally's for 99 cents recently and it really is a fun color. Turquoise chromes win in my book and the formula was pretty great. Yet another brands I need to give a closer look! Two coats.

Have a great rest of your day! -Dana

Layering Fun - China Glaze Harvest Moon & Hard Candy Pixie

Happy recovery day!

I hope everyone had a fun (and safe) St. Patty's Day! I worked, Jeffrey and I went to a local deli for Reuben's, made a few cocktails and home, and watched episodes of It's Always Sunny. I missed my friends back home so much yesterday, but all in all it was relaxing and wonderful. I am so in love with China Glaze's Hunger Games collection, so today I have yet another layering combo to share - this time with Harvest Moon. Harvest Moon is a deepened (yet bright?) copper polish with golden orange and red shimmer. It's fantastic although the formula was a little runny. This is two coats.

I've been having so much fun layering with my vintage glitters lately! They lend a subtle yet darling edge to my mani's! I've had Pixie sitting in my stash after I bought it on eBay for a while, and thought the colors of the iridescent holo glitter would compliment Harvest Moon perfectly and man was I right! This is two coats layered over! :D LOVE THIS LOOK!

Have a great Saturday!

China Glaze - Electrify

Hello there!

I'll be honest with you - with my vintage polishes obsession, it is really rare that a new collection really catches my eye other than one or two colors. There is so much to explore and discover with the discontinued that I often forget just how awesome new collections CAN be. Case in point - China Glaze's new Hunger Games collection. Holy. Moly. I literally want each and every polish. I don't think I've ever loved a current collection in it's entirety like this one. AMAZING. I'm going to start off with the first polish to catch my eye - Electrify. If there is anything China Glaze kicks butt at it's glitter!

This glitter is so easy to love. Electrify is a yellow gold and red glitter polish, with the gold taking about 60%. It reminds of of embers from a fire. I love the glowing gold effect the gold glitter has and how the red is so complimentary! I don't think I'd ever wear this stunner as a layering polish, I think it's far beyond fantastic on it's own. This is three coats. When it catches the sun - WATCH OUT!!! :P

China Glaze rocks my socks off.
Who else is digging this glitter? :) Dana

Old & New - Wet N Wild Precious Metal's Gold Rush & Wet N Wild Ice Baby's 24 Carats

Good morning polish lovers!
Sorry this post is so late - waking up at 5 in the morning and going back to bed at 8 means ultimately sleeping in till noon. Whoops! Better late then never I suppose. Today I have a Wet N Wild addition of Old & New. Enjoy!

The old polish I have to show you today is a mall Dollar Store's find. I literally raided that funny-smelling little shop for every polish they had! Among them and literally buried was this little gem. I don't remember seeing these polish around, but now I wish I had the rest of the collection! The rest of the white cap is missing, but for a dollar I really didn't care! Gold Rush is a wonderful - you guessed it - metallic gold polish and took three coats for full coverage.

Next up we have another Ice Baby polish - 24 Carats - from their most recent Ice Baby collection. 24 carats is a stunning clear based-polish with gold micro-glitter and bar glitter and copper bar glitter. It was one of the polishes I was most excited about from this collection! I applied two coats over Essie's Jazz.

OPI Muppets Fresh Frog of Bel Air with Revlon Spice It Up Snow Bunny

It's Saturday!!! I'm really excited because it's my weekend off! :) I haven't been feeling well lately, sore throat and head aches, so my goal to to swatch my little butt off today! So many beauties backed up it's scary to look at! Today I have a polish that I knew I had to have the moment I saw the promo pics - OPI's Muppets Fresh Frog of Bel Air!

Green is my favorite color AND, as we all know, I love glitter, so this polish BEGGED me to buy it! And of course - I caved. Like right away. Never looked back! ;P FFOBA is a clover green glitter with larger silver glitter - great for layering! I don't think I'd ever wear this baby by itself. I was thinking wearing it over red for a Christmas mani.....hmm.....

Now it's time for the pearly lovely underneath it all! It's the second polish I have to share from Revlon's Holiday 2011 Spice It Up collection - Snow Bunny! Lately I don't know what has changed, I have been so drawn to white shimmery polishes! I can't get enough! (Here's lookin at you, Au Champagne!) Snow Bunny took three coats to reach full opacity - and they were well worth it! I'm in love with Snow Bunny!

As always, I used my go-to Essie All in One Base and my new love - Poshe topcoat
