Cutex from Kaz!

Well hello there!

Today I have four Cutex polishes sent to me from Australia from my ever-so-awesome pal, Kaz. I first began drooling over Camouflage when I saw her post HERE, and she offered to gift them to me. THANKS AGAIN, GIRL! :) Let's get to the best first, the drool-worthy Camouflage. Holy crapola. Serious. This golden green is so glowing and amazing I wish I had a whole vat of it to swim in. Seriously, a TUB. I'm in all sorts of love. Two coats.

Next up I have Slime. Very confused by this name for a pale yellow polish. Perhaps the pigment changed over time and it used to be a polish green not yellow? Hmmmmm..... this polish was patchy and wouldn't even out no matter how many coats I applied. I *think* this is three.

Next up I have Mauve Lightening. Mauve. Isn't that more of a purple shade and less of a frosty light pink? Just curious. Two coats. I think Kaz pretty much explained this one best on her post. :p

Last but not least I have Brown Berry, which to me is a mauve color! I actually REALLY love this color with my skin tone! Formula was pretty great on this one too, this is two coats. I'm thinking pedi color!

Gave a fun weekend!

Revlon Color Chrome LE - KhakiChrome

TGIF!

Today's the day!!! My mom and brother are currently on their way to Virginia Beach! I feel like I a kid at Christmas! *big goofy grin* :D No worries, they'll be here for a week but I have all my posts ready to go!

Today I have an amazing (and my first!) Revlon Color Chrome LE polish - KhakiChrome, KhakiZing's cousin. (Swatches to come soon!) My polish BFF Jacqui gifted me this gem. MAN looking back at these swatches remind me how much I love this gem! Oh vintage Revlons, you have my heart. Where do I start? Formula? Great AND it dried in a flash. Not to mention this is a duochrome that's actually a chrome LOL!  A metallic, shiny chrome at that! It shifts from a pink/mauve to a gold/copper. Obviously for the majority it stays in the pink/mauve side of things, but I tried to capture the gold/copper best I can. The bottle shot at the end really shows it off. Two coats.

See that color shift?
Have a great Friday!

Retro Sunday Squared With Scholarly Nail - Vintage Hard Candy - Cloud & Cosmic

Hello there, ladies!

Jacqui and I had to take a short hiatis due to my moving and getting my life together again, but we're back now! Today we chose to do vintage Hard Candy polishes. Jacqui has the most AMAZING HC collection, so I know shes going to blow you all and myself away! The two I have to share today are actually both gifts from her! ;) They're both minis, so sorry in advance if the posture holding the bottles is the little awkward. :p

First up I have Cloud. OMG I was blown away by this one! Cloud is a sky blue metallic polish with flecks that shift from silver/white to gold. The name of this polish really holds true to it's airy look! So light and delicate. I was really happy with this formula, this is two coats.

Next up I have Cosmic. To be honest, when I think of a polish with the name Cosmic I think of a deep blue or black and holo glitter. What we have here is a slick light mauve/pink polish with micro-fine silver glitter. I love this color so much, but I think I'd love it more on me if I had a tan. I have total lobster hands with my fair skin! Once again, great formula. Two coats.

Don't forget to check out Jacqui's blog!

Old and New - China Glaze - Violet Hush & Nicole by OPI's Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam

Hello there!

Today is another Old and New post! For the Old section I have China Glaze's Violet Hush, yet another great blog sale find! Violet Hush is an old China Glaze with the old bottle style, silver cap, and silver lettering as well. I love this polish for it's mauve color, and I actually enjoy it's frostiness, which I know most don't enjoy in the nail community. I'm weird, it's okay. It's a less obvious type of frost and I really love it on my nails! Great formula, almost a one-coater but went with two.

Next up I have the base color that I used to Red Carpet Lacquer's Grifter - Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam by Nicole for OPI. The name makes me want to puke in my mouth, but the color itself is awesome! I love the deepened teal color so much. The formula was pretty decent, this is two coats.

Have a fantastic day!

Moodies by Nubar

Well fancy meeting you here! :P

Today I have some really fun Nubars to share! Nubar is a brand that I've yet to become really familiar with. Other than 2010, these are the only ones I own. Not sure why.... LOL! I knew there were so many great polishes they used to make and discontinued with their old bottle shape. There are the Shocks and Spells, (I. Need. ALL. The. Shocks. Kaz has some great swatches!) I knew there were Moodies floating around as well, but had never seen these old shapes floating around out there on eBay or elsewhere. I found these on a blog sale. (Although they are sold on this site I just found out.) If I weren't on an official low-buy they would have been bought by now.

Now these don't have names, so I'm just calling them Copper Moodie and Mauve Moodie. Just like the older China Glaze mood polishes, I think with age the mood changing just isn't popping anymore. Ah well, still vintage Nubar and awesome. First up we have Copper Moodie. When I first saw this metallic lovely I knew I would love it and I was right! Copper shimmer in a deep red/copper base is a beautiful thing. Three coats.

Next up we have Mauve Moodie. I was hesitant to order this only with Copper Moodie, but ultimately I knew I would regret it and pulled the trigger. A pale mauve/pink and slightly frosty polish, Mauve Moodie, is a classy and pretty polish and I actually really love it! This is two coats.

Anyone else own any vintage Nubars?

Layering Fun - China Glaze Dress Me Up & Naturistics Icicle

 It's Monday?!? What happened?! LOL

I can't believe this weekend is over!!! I bought a new car, (Jeep Compass) saw The Hunger Games, and did some amazing thrifting! All in all, I'm sad it's over! Today I have yet another polish from China Glaze's Hunger Games collection - this time it's Dress Me Up. I know from reading other blogs that not everyone has been crazy for this polish, but I LOVE IT! Isn't it odd how sometimes you're drawn to polishes that surprise you? I couldn't resist it's warm mauve tone to the polish and I'm so glad I bought it! This color lands on the best side of the color spectrum, steering clear of being a grandma color. I love it with my skin-tone and the creme formula was just fabulous! This is two smooth coats.

How do you make is even more beautiful?!? THAT'S RIGHT! ADD VINTAGE GLITTER! Today I added two coats of Naturistics Icicle, a lovely clear-based glitter with micro-fine silver glitter. It really lends an delicate, romantic feel to Dress Me Up. I love Naturistics glitters. A LOT. :D

Have a great week! -Dana

Revlon Street Wear Jelly & Revlon's Spice It Up's Cheers

Mornin!

Today I have two great polishes again for you for another Old and New post - and they're both Revlons! This should be fun! :P Not only have I become, I'll admit it - obsessed :D - with vintage polishes, but especially with Revlon Street Wears. The colors are so unique and I can't get enough! Here is Jelly.

My good friend and fellow vintage polish lover Jacqui and I both though that jelly is a mauvy version of China Glaze's Channelesque. Don't you agree? I tried to catch jelly in different lights to show off the color, it's really beautiful with my skin tone I thought! Bonus? Hidden shimmer!!! Woven though out is purple and pink shimmer. This is two coats. Love it!

The other beauty today is from Revlon's Spice It Up holiday collection from this winter - Cheers. I think my lemming for Essie's Lady Like was just cured with this delicate beauty, a very soft and feminine shade of pink. Here she is!

Cheers is a dusty nude-toned creme polish, as I said before, almost a dead-on dupe for Essie's Lady Like from this fall. I normally am not much of a pink girl, but these shades really speak to me. The formula was really nice and smooth, two coats and I was ready to go!

China Glaze - Mink Frost

Happy Hump Day, ladies!

This week is my first week of work in Virginia, so I had to make sure I had enough blog posts saved up. The polish I have today I got from my awesome friend Jacqui during our Nail Board meet up a few weekends back. It was a wonderful day filled with amazing polish, an amazing time, and amazing friends! This beauty is my first old China Glaze for my collection, Mink Frost.

Jacqui, thank you, thank you, thank you! :) I love this frosty mauve beauty with gold shimmer, it looks amazing with my skin tone, too! Application for this older China Glaze was amazing, it took two coats for full coverage. This was definitely before China Glaze was 3-free due to the smell, but who CARES with a stunning polish like this one???? :P As I've said before, I'm a sucker for older polishes!

I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the older China Glaze polishes now! This baby will be in my stash forever!
