OPI - Merry Midnight

HI THERE!

I have to admit, as a polish lover - I don't own a whole lot of OPI's. After I sold quite a few in my blog sale over the summer, I don't even have a whole Helmer drawer full now. They always seem to only have one or two polishes (or none to be honest) from each collection that I really love. BUT I do love dusty hunting for those vintage and HTF gems they have out there! Now THOSE I cherish with my life! :D

Here's one of my faves - Merry Midnight. This polish came out in there 2009 Holiday Wishes Collection. (I also have Shim-Merry Chic) I found them both on a dusty. Of course we all know Orly Fowl Play is a dead-ringer dupe for Merry Midnight. As an avid collector, I sold my Fowl Play and hold my Merry Midnight close. The sheer shimmery plum tone goes so nicely with my skin-tone, and the flakies that flash from orange to green just add magic. This is three coats. Very festive indeed. ;)

I'll have to show you Shim-Merry Chic soon!

OPI - Germanicure

Happy Saturday, ya'll!

A lot of people here in Virginia say ya'll, so why can't a girl from Cleveland living here, right? :p Today I have one of the three polishes I snagged from this fall's OPI Germany collection. You guessed it - I got all the reds. My love for red polish knows no bounds. Today I have Germanicure to share with you, and man is it a beauty! Germanicure is a deep brown toned red shimmer polish. Formula was a tad on the thin side, but it really evened out and got opaque after the second coat. This polish to me screams fall and winter! I see myself reaching for this polish again and again for the months to come. I love fall and I love fall collections!

Have a great weekend!

OPI - Every Month Is Oktoberfest

Happy Monday!......

This weekend went by entirely too fast! Guess that's the sign of a great weekend I suppose!

Since I'm an avid vintage polish collector, I rarely ever grab polishes from new collection unless I really fall hard for something. When I saw OPI's new Fall 2012 Germany collection, I KNEW I needed all of the reds! (I still need to pick up German-icure & Danke-Shiney Red.) Every Month Is Oktoberfest is the one I knew I wanted the most! The base is a deep reddened purple/plum base with red/purple shimmer. With one coat it looks almost blue, but with two coats as shone in my swatches it looks black-based. I LOVE this polish so much! It's vampy, complex, and a perfect color for fall!

Have a great start to your week!

OPI Pawlish - Yuppy Puppy

WHAT'S UP?!

I love stumbling across a new polish brand (no, OPI is not new to me. Pawlish is.) on eBay, being the only one to bid one it, and getting it for a steal. That's what happened with Yuppy Puppy. It was meant to be! Pawlish is an older OPI brand (black label, narrow brush - ya know the drill) that is supposed to be polish for your pooches LOL! :) Goofiness. I really love this glowing metallic silver very much! It almost has a tinge of light blue hidden in there. Two coats.

Do you have any Pawlish polishes?

Old and New -OPI - At Your Quebec & Call and Hard Candy mini

Hey gals!

Today I prepared another Old and New post, and I'm starting off with a dusty hunting black label find, OPI's At Your Quebec & Call. I had always wanted this polish, but for some reason always passed it up. I found an almost full bottle while dusty hunting with Jacqui with only 4 bucks. It was meant to be. At Your Quebec And Call is a dirty olive green shimmer polish. The formula was rather runny, it pooled on my pinky finger. Ah well! I love the color! This is two coats.

Next up for the new section I have a little unnamed Hard Candy polish I received as a freebie by an eBay seller. It looks more red-based in the bottle, but it takes on a more firey orange on the nail. MAN that shimmer is awesome! Two coats.

Have a great day!

Old and New - Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds Jewel's N' Berries & OPI Princesses Rule!

Hey polish lovahs!

Today's another Old and New post! I'm starting off with a Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds polish, Jewel's N' Berries. I have a few from this line and I've always wanted more. This is where the lovely Lauren swoops in! She included this beauty in our recent swap. Did I mention yet she's the best? Jewel's N' Berries is a deep magenta polish LOADED with shimmer and micro glitter. Just gorgeous. Formula was still nice and smooth with time. Final verdict? I need more Wet Shine Diamonds.  Lots more.

Weird things happen as a polish lover. I normally fall head over heals for anything strange colored, vampy, green, or glittery. As of late, I've been craving delicate shades. After I read Scrangie's post on OPI's Princess Charming collection, I decided I need them all. A blogger pal had a blog sale & I came across Princesses Rule! *jaw hits the floor* It's such a perfect pink crystallic sheer polish. I love how it catches shades of silver and almost blue in some light. This is four coats and worth every one! This may very well be one of my favorite OPI's. Now the search continues for the rest. :P

Impressed? :)

Old and New - Ruby Kisses Blue Pearl & OPI Goin' Ape-ricot!

Welcome back!

I'm just going to cut to the chase today since I'm running a tad late - today is an Old and New post! for the old polish today I have a Ruby Kisses polish that I received as a freebie in a blog sale order - Blue Pearl. I have become a HUGE Ruby Kisses fan, and make it a deep, glowy blue? I'm sold. I think I have a ten to fifteen blues of the shade, all dupes of one another, but I love them all equally. The formula on this was actually a little runny. This is three coats.

For the new polish today I have an OPI to share. I don't really own a lot of OPI's and I have to admit with all the other amazing brands out there I usually pass on their collections. (except for their upcoming Spider-man collection! The comic book geek in my is grinning ear to ear) I won't deny the fact though, that their vintage HTF greens top my wish list. (Rainforest and Real Teal) But when I came across this sparkly glassed flecked orange at the thrift store for $2.99 I couldn't pass it up. Goin' Ape-ricot! is a sheer and juicy light orange polish that really looks great with a few thin coats and screams summer! I'll let ya have the one, OPI! :P This is three coats.

Have a great day! -d

Layering Fun - Hard Candy Trailer Trash & OPI Save Me

Good Mornin'!

I hope everyone's weekend was great! I have a stunning manicure I wore recently to share on this fine Monday. Back when the Nicki Minaj collection was released there was only a lone polish I purchased and that's today's glitter- Save Me. Due to having an overflowing stash (not that I'm complaining :P) I haven't worn it until now and I don't know why. I'm in bar glitter Heaven! (my glitter of choice as of late) I love Save Me, a clear-based polish with micro-fine silver glitter with holo bar glitter. This is two coats over Hard Candy's Trailer Trash. I love how this combo shines and glows!

Bar glitter = current weakness.

Underneath the glitter fun is Hard Candy's Trailer Trash. This is the version that was re-released in 2008, but I definitely remember owning this polish back when I was a teenager. Ah, the good old days. Trailer Trash is a silver chrome polish that actually applies relatively thin. This is three coats.

Hope your Monday goes by fast! ;)

OPI - Blue Moon Lagoon

Good Morning!

Today is a very special day for me! One of my best friends is flying in from Cleveland to visit me in Virginia Beach! I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!

Anyhoo, who is ready to see a truly amazing dusty find???!!! Okay, great - you're in for a treat! Jacqui and I seem to be each other's dusty hunting good luck charms. The last time I was in Ohio and we went hunting, we came across a salon with not one but TWO bottles of Blue Moon Lagoon! It was meant to be and we could hardly believe it! Even better? I found What's Dune as well! I can't wait til I come home in July - we will once again put out our luck to the test! Here Blue Moon Lagoon itself!

Freakin HELL right?!?! I am in awe of this holo HTF beauty, just in awe. The formula was truly amazing. I excepted it to be much more sheer than it really was. Is it still on the sheer side after two coats? Yes. Does that just add to it's perfection ever more? YES! Blue Moon Lagoon is a light blue holo jam packed with sparkling goodness! I am amazement of this polish and am so lucky that it's mine!

Excuse me while I wipe up my pile of drool.
TGIF!

Finger Paints Special Effects flakies - Asylum

Happy Sunday and Happy New Years!

Last night was a stressful New Years Eve to say the least, I won't get into all that but let's just say 2012 isn't starting out the way I want it to. Alas, I have so many pretty swatches stored up on the computer and I don't want to neglect the blog. I recently was lucky enough to get my hands on the entire set of Finger Paints Special Effects flaky polishes! The first Sally's I tried didn't have them and the lovely lady working called around until she found them for me! Had to drive a half hour there and back, but totally worth it! The first one I have to share today is Asylum - enjoy!

I think I might have been the most excited about Asylum due to the crazy flaky combo within this bad boy! It's a mixture of blue/purple iridescent flakies and orange/yellow flakies that flash to green. It's really amazing to look at! This is two layers over two layers of OPI Russian Navy.

Flaky goodness!
