HTF: Revlon Rock Royalty

Happy Thursday!

Sorry this post is going out so late, it's my day off. My job's been so hectic lately, I really need this day to relax. So, naturally the universe would give me a horrible headache so that I'm in bed until after noon. I have big plans now though, Season 4 of True Blood on DVD and the new Ulta3 glitters to swatch that the lovely Lauren sent me! I also think I'm going to start doing posts of my stash to show you lovely ladies what I have in my Helmers!

Today I have a crazy HTF polish to share, Revlon's Rock Royalty. I won a pretty intense bidding war on eBay, but ever since I saw swatches when I was a nail newbie I fell in love and was on the search! UGH, I cannot find any info on this polish now! I've been searching the web and can only find Revlon's polish Rock. HELP! I swear I used to know the year and collection, but now it eludes me! The only post I can really find is Kaz's Bottle Spam in THIS POST. Rock Royalty is just so rich and decedent. The deep base, red shimmer, gold shimmer, everything. It's everything I knew it would be and more! I wore this polish for four days, and it didn't chip with minimal tip wear. This is two coats.

Have a great day!

HALLOWEEN MONTH! Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers - Vamp Red

Monday, you suck. A lot.

I'm going to go with a vampy, dark polish to match my feelings for this day of the week LOL! Today I have a great blood red creme polish to share, Wet N Wild's Fantasy Makers Vamp Red. I believe this tomb stone polish came out a few years back, but I snagged it on a blog sale about a year back. I just adore these shaped bottles. Formula was pretty good, this is two coats.

Have a great day! .....stupid Monday....

OPI - Germanicure

Happy Saturday, ya'll!

A lot of people here in Virginia say ya'll, so why can't a girl from Cleveland living here, right? :p Today I have one of the three polishes I snagged from this fall's OPI Germany collection. You guessed it - I got all the reds. My love for red polish knows no bounds. Today I have Germanicure to share with you, and man is it a beauty! Germanicure is a deep brown toned red shimmer polish. Formula was a tad on the thin side, but it really evened out and got opaque after the second coat. This polish to me screams fall and winter! I see myself reaching for this polish again and again for the months to come. I love fall and I love fall collections!

Have a great weekend!

OPI - Every Month Is Oktoberfest

Happy Monday!......

This weekend went by entirely too fast! Guess that's the sign of a great weekend I suppose!

Since I'm an avid vintage polish collector, I rarely ever grab polishes from new collection unless I really fall hard for something. When I saw OPI's new Fall 2012 Germany collection, I KNEW I needed all of the reds! (I still need to pick up German-icure & Danke-Shiney Red.) Every Month Is Oktoberfest is the one I knew I wanted the most! The base is a deep reddened purple/plum base with red/purple shimmer. With one coat it looks almost blue, but with two coats as shone in my swatches it looks black-based. I LOVE this polish so much! It's vampy, complex, and a perfect color for fall!

Have a great start to your week!

Ulta3's - some stunning reds!

Hey ladies!

Sorry I've been so MIA the last few days - Traveling home to Ohio and getting back into the swings of things just exhausted me and threw me for a loop! I've finally had time to rest and swatch so I'm back with my daily posts! Thanks for being patient, loves! <3

Today I have three red Ulta3 polishes from the lovely, lovely Lauren. Ulta3 has become one of my favorite cheapie polish brands, (Wet N Wild, you're the other favrorite!) they have a great color range. Today I have three reds to share and the first is English Rose. This is hands down my fave of the group! English Rose is a cherry red jelly polish loaded with red and hints of gold glass flecks. Smooth as butter, this is three thin coats.

Next up I have Black Plum. This deepened ruby shimmer polish is just drool-worthy! :) It's not very unique, but it's beauty still knocks me off my feet! I love it - vampy polish goodness! Two coats.

Last but not least, I have Fire Truck, one of their Speed Dry polishes. I love a good classic red creme and this is no exception! Incredibly smooth formula, this is two coats.

Have a great Monday! <3

Chanel Rouge Noir (AKA Vamp)

Hey girls!

Let's make the most of a Monday (...*sigh*...) and check out a classic Chanel polish! I know I've mentioned it before, but I'm addicted to Chanel polish. My wallet for sure limits me, LOL, but what I can get a good deal - it's game on! Today I have Rouge Noir (AKA Vamp) to share. If you read my blog on a regular basis, you'll know how much I love vampy polishes. The deeper and darker the better! Make it a blood red polish? Ever better! I can think of no better example of this than Rouge Noir! This is the iconic polish that Uma Thurman wore on Pulp Fiction (Check it out HERE!). It has been a cult classic ever since. Two coats of sexiness.

Have a fantastic day!

Old and New - Revlon StreetWear Blood & Wet N Wild It's Not You, It's Me

Hey dolls!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I worked, went to a cookout, and watched hours and hour of American Pickers (my guilty pleasure). All in all, a nice summer's weekend. Today I have an Old and New post to share, and the old polish for today is my most recent Revlon StreetWear polish - Blood from the amazing Jacqui. I'm a vampy polish fiend, and make it a blood red polish with shimmer?! SOLD. Blood is so dang sexy. Rawr! :D Two coats.

Next up I have a polish from a new Wet N Wild display I found at my work (CVS). I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW. Crackle is dead. Here's the thing though - I think it's been long enough that I've found myself falling in love with it again. I had always wanted OPI Red Shatter, so when I came across It's Not You, It's Me, I was giddy to get a red shatter for $2.99. I love the way it shattered as well, I might need to grab a few more! This is one coat over Chanel Peridot. Make fun all you want, shatter is cool to me again.

Hope your Monday goes well! <3

Old and New - Nail Fetish Dude & Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat Antiqued Gold

Hey ladies!

Today is - yes, you guessed it - another Old and New post! I have a great Nail Fetish to start things off, Dude. I can't help it, every time I see this polish I think of The Big Lebowski. (A favorite movie of mine.) This polish is freaking AH-MAZ-ING. Deep, vampy blood-red polish with red shimmer just screams sexy to me! Smooth formula. Two coats. LOVE!

Next up for my New part I have *gasp!* a crackle polish, Sally Hansen's Crackle Overcoats in Antiqued Gold. I know, I know, crackles have been run into the ground, but after wearing Morning Java, I really thought this would look great over it! I was RIGHT! I don't care I love the way this looks and it may have peaked my interest once again.

Have a great day, ladies!

Moodies by Nubar

Well fancy meeting you here! :P

Today I have some really fun Nubars to share! Nubar is a brand that I've yet to become really familiar with. Other than 2010, these are the only ones I own. Not sure why.... LOL! I knew there were so many great polishes they used to make and discontinued with their old bottle shape. There are the Shocks and Spells, (I. Need. ALL. The. Shocks. Kaz has some great swatches!) I knew there were Moodies floating around as well, but had never seen these old shapes floating around out there on eBay or elsewhere. I found these on a blog sale. (Although they are sold on this site I just found out.) If I weren't on an official low-buy they would have been bought by now.

Now these don't have names, so I'm just calling them Copper Moodie and Mauve Moodie. Just like the older China Glaze mood polishes, I think with age the mood changing just isn't popping anymore. Ah well, still vintage Nubar and awesome. First up we have Copper Moodie. When I first saw this metallic lovely I knew I would love it and I was right! Copper shimmer in a deep red/copper base is a beautiful thing. Three coats.

Next up we have Mauve Moodie. I was hesitant to order this only with Copper Moodie, but ultimately I knew I would regret it and pulled the trigger. A pale mauve/pink and slightly frosty polish, Mauve Moodie, is a classy and pretty polish and I actually really love it! This is two coats.

Anyone else own any vintage Nubars?

Retro Sunday Squared with Scholarly Nail - Revlons

I can't believe it's already been a week! It's time again for another installment of Jacqui and Dana's Retro Sunday Squared and today our pick is Revlon! I love Revlon oh so much. They have a drawer and a half in the Helmer are one of my favorite brands, especially their vintage beauties. Some of my favorite reds are Revlons as well! They somehow always manage to blow my mind with their reds. Case in point - today polish - From Russia With Love. It was a part of the Limited Addition Holiday 2002 007 collections. I want them ALL - check them out on this link. I love my thrift store here so much. This bottle is less then half full, so I'm sure I'll never more than swatch it, and it took a good amount of thinner. Totally worth it - this red is HOT And the shimmer is sexy. Just like 007. ;) Two coats.

Next up I have Punch Chrome from their Top Speed Chrome line. They had to keep up with the Sally Hansen chromes I suppose! :p This is the only Revlon Chrome I own and I think it's pretty and shiny but not as chrome-y as I would like. Still pretty and had really nice formula. Two coats and I coat topcoat, it dried a little dull.

Have a great Sunday!
