Aussie Fun! Australias Nail Colour - Flips Flops & Vampy

Hello there!

I hope you're all having a great start to the week! Mondays and Tuesdays are my long days at work, so I'm definitely ready for the rest of the week! Today I have two Aussie polishes from the lovely Lauren to share, they're from a brand that's new to me - Australias! OMG these polishes are awesome, instead of hidden shimmer they have hidden glitter flaky goodness! Formula was great on both, I really enjoyed the brush as well.

First up we have Flip Flops. HELL-O, YOU BLUE BEAUTY, YOU! Omg, this blue knocks my socks off! SERIOUSLY. Sorry for yelling, but OMG!!! Flip Flops is a few shades darker than what I call "Smurf Blue",  that fun blue that I just always seem to gravitate towards! What could possibly make it better?! Matching blue flakies! DUH! :P Two smooth coats.

Next up we have Vampy. I LOVE this color too! It's more mature than what I normally reach for, but that's the fun thing with swapping! You get your hands on polishes you wouldn't necessarily pick for yourself but you end up loving! Vampy is a pink toned wine polish with great orange flakies. It teeters on the fine line between a nice fall color and summer sophistication. Two coats.

Have a great Tuesday!

Ulta3 - Burnt Orange - AKA My new Favorite Fall orange

Hi there!

As much I as loved doing Halloween polishes all October, it's nice to get back to my regularly scheduled swatching since I have SO MANY amazing beauties share to share with you all! Oh, the vintage goodness. You just wait. ;P

Today I have a seriously awesome Fall orange to share, Ulta3's Burnt Orange. The lovely Lauren sent this beauty to me a while back in one of our epic swaps. It is seriously amazing for Fall. PERFECTION. The burnt pumpkin orange is only made better by it's amazing shimmer. I'm a big Ulta3 fan, and their formula is always great. This is two coats.

What are your favorite oranges?

HALLOWEEN MONTH! Milani - Magical

Happy Saturday!

I hope you're all having a great day! One of my best friends is driving all the way from Ohio to visit me in Virginia Beach today so I cannot WAIT!

Today I have another polish from Milani's 2009 Halloween collection, Magical. I really love each and every polish in this collection! Magical is the one in the collection with orange glitter. It definitely screams Halloween to me for SURE! What I really love about these glitters is the fact that the sheer black jelly base is build-able to allow the micro glitters to really peek through. This is three thin coats.

Have a great weekend!

HALLOWEEN MONTH! Sally Hansen Hard As Nails - Spooktacular

TGIF!

Hello, ladies! Today I have one of my cherished Sally Hansen Hard As Nails polishes and quite possibly of the hardest to find - Spookacular. I stumbled upon this gem on eBay and pounced on the chance to snatch it up!

Spooktacular is shown here layered over the polish of my last post, Revlon's Haunted Heart. The shimmer underneath really added UMPH! Spooktacular is a clear based polish compiled of mostly glowing, vibrant orange micro glitter with scattered black glitter as well. What a GREAT Halloween glitter! Sally really used to do these so well. BRING EM BACK! This is two coats. I really enjoyed wearing this as a full mani.

Have a great Friday, girls! <3

HALLOWEEN MONTH! Revlon - Haunted Heart

Hey polish lovers!

Today I have the second polish I chose from Revlon's new Halloween collection, Haunted Heart. This was also CP'd by the ever so darling Krista of Starlet's Nails. I know I mentioned you're the best but I just want to say it again, girl! <3

Haunted Heart is a PERFECT and FANTASTIC Halloween orange! That golden yellow shimmer?!?! YES, PLEASE! I'm wearing this as a full mani right now and I'm telling you, it's so festive for right before Halloween! The formula was on the thick side, yet smooth. Almost a one-coater but this is two. I really am drooling over this killer shimmer, people!

Anyone else fall for this polish? I know I did!

HALLOWEEN MONTH! China Glaze Ick-A-Bod-Y

Happy Saturday, ladies!

I hope you're all having either a fun-filled or relaxing day! Today I have a glitter from China Glaze's 2010 Halloween collection, Awakening - Ick-A-Bod-Y. I love these glitters, but I gotta tell ya I feel like China Glaze dropped that ball on the formulas with this beaut and Mummy May I. They're still awesome enough to look past it, but it still really grinds my gears since I know that quality China Glaze is capable of.

Ick-A-Bod-Y is a smoky based polish polish jam packed with tiny orange glitter. I love it so much, Halloween glitter perfection! I love how dense the glitter is, although due to the goopy formula I had to use three coats to even out.

Enjoy your weekend!

HALLOWEEN MONTH! China Glaze - Glitter Goblin

We meet again!

I'm having so much fun swatching off of my Halloween polishes, and I hope you will too! Today is day 3, and I thought I'd share with you an amazing new glitter from China Glaze's new Wicked Halloween 2012 collection. I settled on three from that collection, and this one may be my favorite! It just SCREAMS Halloween to me! Glitter Goblin is a mixture of two colors of fine glitter, orange and holo glitter. Its was on the sheer side, so I layered two coats over Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers Fiery.

Have a great Tuesday!

HALLOWEEN MONTH! Retro Sunday Squared with The Scholarly Nail - Wet N Wild: Fantasy Makers

Hey, ladies!

It's officially my favorite time of the year - it's FALL! I love Fall more than anything. The smells outdoors, the scents that companies release, the clothing, the polish (DUH!), and Halloween! I think I'm going to be a Ghost-buster this year. Anyhoo, today marks the beginning of my month of nothing but Halloween polish - and what better way to kick it off then with a Retro Sunday Squared post with Jacqui?! Today we decided to share our older Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers polishes. I really thought I had way more then I do. Maybe I sold them on my blog sale or swapped them? Who knows.

First up I have Fiery to share. And fiery it IS! WOWZA! I totally forgot I had this one, I bought it in a blog sale about a year ago. It's molden, glowing, orange magic! I almost have no words to describe this polish, pictures really don't do it enough justice. Think CG Harvest Moon on steroids. My bottle is only about 1/2 full, and I really need a back up. Two coats. What a perfect fall orange!

Next up I have Black Ice. I really love these keep burgundy based polishes with green shimmer. Think Urban Decay Bruise. There's just so much dimension with these types of polish, they have vampy yet mysterious feel. Black Ice is a shade that Wet N Wild released a couple times I believe but this is the only version that I own. Formula was pretty thin, this is two coats.

Retro Sunday Squared with The Scholarly Nail - Vintage L'Oreals.... & IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

It's that time again! Retro Sunday Squared! oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I'm the big 2-8. Ugh, thirty is creeping up on me.

Jacqui and I picked vintage L'Oreal polishes to share today. It's very fitting since she gifted me a BUNCH recently and it gives me an opportunity to show off two of them! L'Oreal has so many amazing vintage polishes out there, many of their glitter will forever be high on my wish list! Today I have two great ones to share, so let's start things off with Black Emerald.

Black Emerald is from their Colour Endure line. Holy cow, my lil' green polish lovin' heart is going to burst out of it's chest. WWWOOOWWW! Jacqui's you're my hero. Seriously. My hero. I am so in love with this polish! It's name does it justice, a blackened emerald green shimmer polish. As much as I drool over the outcome, the formula was tricky and difficult. I had to use the right base coat for it to lay even and it was very runny. Pooling aside, it ended beautifully. Two coats.

Next up I have quite the polish to share. When I unwrapped this bad boy I couldn't believe my eyes! There's no name on this polish like a good majority of vintage L'Oreal's - so we're just going to call it by it's number, 405. Oh, 405. Where do I start? Have you ever had and/or seen a blood orange? (If not Google it now, then come right back.) This polish mimics it's color perfectly, a red red jelly that leans to the orange side. What could make that even better? Why add orange micro glitter of course! Two coats of amazing.
