Barielle - Falling Star

Good Morning!

I hope you all are having a good week, mine has been full of working and packing. Blah. But Virginia Beach, here I come! Today I have for you one of the most unique polish colors that I have in my stash, Barrielle's Falling Star.

I don't remember ever being this torn when it comes to a polish. Why you may ask? I love the color, I've never seen anything like it! It's an almost periwinkle creme blue with bronze glitter. I would never have thought up that combo in a million years! I. Hate. The. Formula. AL OT! The first time I tried this polish it was so think and goopy that I was appalled. I added thinner to it this time around and I just still don't like it. Now it's just streaky. Grrrrrrr!! I used two coats. I'm just on the fence with this one ladies. :/

This is my first Barielle polish, I have a few more I haven't tried yet. I just really hope I don't run into this formula issue with each one. But like I said, love love love the color! Barrielle polishes retail for $8/bottle at http://www.barielle.com/ and I've also spotted them at Ulta.

Revlon Expressionist Collection - Blue Mosaic

Hello again!

Today I have for you the second of my three Revlon Fall 2011 Expressionist Glitter, Blue Mosaic. As a glitter junkie, so far these polishes are not disappointing! Thanks once again, Rie! ;)

Blue Mosaic is a clear-based polish heavy with aqua blue micro-glitter and aqua blue, silver, & green hexagon-shaped glitter. After seeing a few other blog posts of this polish, I figured with my patience for layering it over and over and over, I would layer it over black. I really liked they way it turned out, and it's actually the manicure I choose to leave on after swatching. I'm wearing it as we speak! :) This is two layer of BM over two layers of China Glaze Liquid Leather. (Swatches of LL alone to follow shortly!)

Can I just say how much Revlon has been stepping up their game? They have become hands down my fave drugstore-brand polishes. I love everything I've tried recently & I can't wait to see what else they have in store! BRING IT ON! :P

Revlon polish can be purchased at mass drugstore/chain stores, but I believe the Expressionist Collection is only found at Target. They range from $3.75-$5.99.

Revlon Expressionist Collection - Facets of Fuchsia

Good Morning, Ladies!

Today I have one of the three glitter polishes I have from the new Fall 2011 Revlon Expressionist Collection, Facets of Fuscia! I saw this collection on Twitter & other blogs, and KNEW I had to have them! They are sold exclusively (I believe?) at Target. Since mine didn't have them yet, my amazing friend Rie sent them to me. :D

Facets of Fuscia is a black jelly polish with hexagon-shaped fuscia (you guessed it!) glitter and fine fucshia glitter as well. The only thing that's tricky with this polish is letting the polish dry between coats (I used 3) so that the glitter doesn't move around. It's tricky to get the hexagon glitter where you want it! Next time I'll need to take my time a little more. :)

Here's some darker and lighter shots to help show you the density of the polish -->

I can't wait to try the rest of my glitters from the Expressionist Collection! I've read on many, many blogs that Facets of Fuchsia is a DEAD ON DUPE for Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. $3.75 vs. $18??? No brainer!

Orly - Fowl Play

Good morning!

Today I have for you the notorious Fowl Play polish from Orly's Fall 2011 Birds of a Feather Collection. There is just so much going on in this polish that it made me so excited to finally get my claws on it! I was drooling over it after seeing it pop up on other nail blogs. Now it is mine! *maniacal laughter fades into the background*

When I first really looked at Fowl Play, I almost had to dissect it to figure out all that was going on! And trust me, there a lot! The base of FP is a deep purple jelly which almost leans to a red tone. Swimming throughout FP is blue & royal blue micro-glitter along with the wonderful orange-toned FLAKY GLITTER that makes this polish so unique! It's so fun to look at! I've read on blogs that FP is basically a dead-on dupe for OPI's Merry Midnight. Since MM is older and harder to get your claws on, I'm content with FP. :P I have to tell you though, application for this beauty was tricky. It's thick to apply and long to fulling dry, even with Seche Vite. Three coats.

Overall, I'm very happy to have Fowl play in my stash! Now I just need to go after Sweet Peacock from the Birds of a Feather Collection too! :)

Orly's can be purchased at Sally Beauty Supply store/ Ulta stores for about $6-$8/bottle

A-England - Lady of the Lake

 Hello my lovlies!

This, ladies, is the polish that started it all. Nail blogging that is! :D I have been a fan of polish since I was a little girl, but until recently I never knew nail blogs existed. Before I started my own blog and only followed others, I saw this baby pop up on blogs EVERYWHERE! I knew I had to have it. Once I got my claws on it, I knew it was too amazing to keep to myself and I wanted to share my passion. And here I am! :P

I don't even know where to start with this beauty! Color? Lady of the Lake is a great amethyst shade of purple PACKED with fine holographic glitter. It's too beautiful for words. Application? Sorry RBL, but A-England has you beat by just a hair with flawless application. It literally almost paints itself on. Smooth like butter and unlike any other formula I've tried yet. This baby could have easily been a one-coat wonder (the last time I wore it I only used one) but this time I went with two coats for my outdoor shots. As you can tell, I'm just in awe of this polish. :)

LOTL came out in A-England's The Mythicals Collection, there were 15 polishes total. My wishlist pretty much contains them all! The Mythicals can be purchased at www.a-england.co.uk

OPI - French Quarter For Your Thoughts

Good Morning, Darlings!

Today I have a lovely polish, OPI's French Quarter For Your Thoughts from their Fall 2011 Touring America collection. I'm a sucker for grey polishes and I'm not going to lie, I love everything New Orleans! (the lifestyle, music, & feel of the city!) So my purchase was one part due to the name. :P But in my defence, I ended up loving this grey enough to wear this as a full mani this weekend.

FQFYT is a pale, smoky grey that applied really, really nicely. I used two coats. I'm always happy to yet another grey to my stash! :)

I purchased FQFYT at Ulta, and OPI's can also be purchased at salons.

Orly Precious Collection

Good Morning!

Today I have for you the Orly Spring 2011 Collection, or at least the four shades of the six that I really wanted! :) Although they came out a while ago, I just recently came across them on clearance. I rarely ever purchase a collection in it's entirety, I normally pick the colors that speak to me the most. For the Precious Collection, I skipped out on Pure Porcelain and Fancy Fuchsia. Here are the rest, Enjoy!

*I apologize for having only one swatch for two of these polishes, my camera was giving me a vary hard time and these are the only pictures that I ended up liking.

Sapphire Silk

Sapphire Silk is a dark turquoise/teal creme. I have to tell you, I heard a lot of hype surrounding this color and it ended up being pretty but application was a pain.  It was three coats, the first was EXTREMELY streaky and thin, not normally what I get from Orly cremes. Overall, I liked the color, I'll just need patience for application the next time I wear it.

Gilded Coral

Gilded Coral is a golden/coral shimmer that really glows! I think GC is a great summer color, great with a tan! I, however, do not have one at the moment so it will definitely work better when I'm darker. :) This is two coats, however, this polish dried to an almost gritty/dull finish, I needed a heavy coat of top coat. Very Strange? Hmmmm....

Ancient Jade

Ancient Jade is a light turquoise/green creme. I really loved this color, it was my second favorite of the bunch. It's a terrific spring color for sure! The application was MUCH better than Sapphire Silk, only two coats were needed. No streakiness here!

Royal Velvet

I saved the best for last! I present to you, Royal Velvet! This polish has become one of my all-time favorites! RV is a purple jelly polish PACKED AND GLOWING to the brim with royal blue and purple shimmer. Man is this polish alot to look at, it's distracting! :P I mean LOOK AT IT!!! Application was a little thin, so I used three coats. I love, love, love this polish!

The Orly Precious Collection can be found on Amazon/EBay or on dusty hunting trips like how I found mine. If you come across Royal Velvet, you need it in your stash!
