Essence LOL

Hello again!

Two posts two days in a row?! NO WAY! I'm trying really hard to get back into the swing of nail blogging again, but I'm super frustrated that I can't find the right lighting situation like I had before. Today's pics are all with flash.

Today I have an Essence polish to share, and it's a Shrek green neon! I love these quirky greens for summer time, they're so fun and bright! I like Essence's new brush and the application was pretty good. My only complaint is that it chipped like the night I painted my nails. I don't think Essence's polish does well on my nails. This is two coats.

Fetish Run For Cover Nail Color - Sci-Fi

HEY THERE! 

I hope you're all having a great week so far, mine has been pretty great but pretty exhausting! Today a have a quickie post to share, I'm running a lil late today! 

I recently found a bunch of vintage Fetish Run For Cover Nail Colors at my local Dollar Tree, and I have my first to share, Sci-Fi. This polish really didn't photograph as bright as it really is, not much but still. Sci-Fi is a dusty lime green shimmer polish. The brush on this polish SUCKED. It was way too HARD, dude. Ugh. This is four coats in an attempt to cover up the bald spots.

China Glaze Halloween 2012 Wicked Collection - Cast A Spell

Happy Saturday!

I recently stopped by my local Sally's and asked if they had any new Halloween displays in the back. Low and behold, they had the new Chins Glaze Halloween 2012 Wicked Collection! I only got two, but I'm going back tomorrow for a few more. Halloween collections are the ones I look forward to the most every year. My love for green polish and glitter is always so pleased! Today I have Cast A Spell to share. Please excuse my picture quality. I'm trying to figure out my lighting situation in the new place and I struggled while swatching today. 

Anyhoo, Cast A Spell is freaking AWESOME! In fact I can't wait to wear this bad boy as a full mani. Right now I'm wearing Pretty Serious Nightopia and have no intentions of taking it off until it chips. :p Cast A Spell is a deep vampy olive green based polish LOADED with golden lime green flecks. It's so awesome how the flecks shift from the gold to green, although in the end they end up on the gold side. China Glaze always seems to have that one green stunner in their Halloween collections. (Hello Zombie Zest and It's Alive!) Formula was great, it was pretty much a one-coater but I can never leave it alone. This is two coats.

Vintage Wet N Wild glitters!

Why hello again!

I'm going to make this post quick just because I'm running a little behind. If you know me you know my love for glitter! Make it vintage and Wet N Wild (one of my favorite cosmetics brands all-around!) and I'm a sucker! Today I have two to share that I paired with Tuesday's Essence Snow White polishes, Happy and Grumpy. 

First up I have an old Fantasy Makers glitter, Green Glam. I scored this at my usual thrift store. I LOVE unique Fantasy Makers polishes, and I love green glitter! Age made this polish watery and hard to control the glitter, which was a little disappointing. It adds a subtle sparkle to Happy, even though this is THREE coats.

Next up I have E=MC2, my definite favorite of today's two glitters! This lime green glitter comes from their long discontinued Nail Zone line. I scored a hand-full of these at a local dollar store a while back. It was pretty impressively dense, the micro-fine glitter added almost a shimmering sheen to it. I LOVE it layered over grumpy! :)

Layering Fun - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Cyber & Naturistics Lime Aboard Creme

Hello!

Remember when I promised to show off all seven of my Sally Hansen Hard As Nails holo glitters? Time for the second one - Cyber. This is the one I definitely wanted the most. (Other then Magnet. Bright blue. Still need.) I still can't get over how awesome these are with their hold glitter, colored base, and matching handles. :) 

Cyber is a lime green sheer based polish with holo glitter. These are all very sheer, so I'd say they're all best for layering. This is two coats over Naturistics Lime Aboard Creme. Wait until you see what color it was originally - Cyber completely changed up the color! 

Here's the underwear of the manicure - Lime Aboard Creme! Look at how different the base color is without Cyber. It has almost more of a mint green feeling mixed in with a lime green tone. Three coats for evenness.

Quick NOTD - China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard

Hello everyone!

I have a quick recent NOTD to share on this fine Monday - I'm With The Lifeguard from China Glaze's Summer Neons 2012 collection. This is the lone polish I ended up nabbing from this collection. I heard so many amazing things about this neon green stunner, and since I'm so in love with my Limonyte (Eeek!) I knew it needed a buddy. As much as I love I'm With The Lifeguard, it just doesn't hold a candle to Limonyte. Still pretty, but the shimmer just ain't the same! This is two coats. Still a great summer green!

VHTF - China Glaze Limonyte

Today I have a VERY hard to find, VERY special polish to share - China Glaze's Limonyte! I had a lemming for this polish pretty much ever since I got into polish, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I found it on a blog sale! I know there are lots of neon green polishes out there (other China Glaze's none-the-less) but being the seeker of all things rare and vintage, Limonyte was the ONE. I couldn't be happier now that it's mine! Limonyte is not only a blinding, awesome lime green polish, but it's loaded with an in-your-face golden yellow shimmer as well. HOT DAMN! It applies a little sheer, this is three thin coats. My only complaint is that even with five hours drying time and Seche Vite, it never dried completely, sometimes I'm just not patient enough! :P I was able to put dents my nails. Ah well, next time I'll wait longer for each coat to dry. Green polish true love anyhoo!

Revlon StreetWear - Time Machine

Hello there!


Today I have one heck of a special polish to share! StreetWear glitters are at the tippy-top of my wishlist and when I can find them for less than an arm and a leg, I jump for joy for at least an hour. For today's polish, Time Machine, I jumped for two. :D Time Machine is a clear-based polish loaded with fine lime green glitter. AWESOME!!!! This is three coats. AAGGHH!! LOVE!

Isn't it awesome!

Ulta3 - Twilight Fever & Lagoon

Good Morning!

I am one of the luckiest girls for the friends that I've made through polish and my blog. Most recent I met the lovely Lauren from Australia. She is just amazing and we have really formed a sweet friendship that I'm grateful for. I've always wanted to try Ulta3 polishes and this lovely gal hunted down a whopping ten for me! Her big heart knows no bounds. <3 Thanks again, Lauren! 

First up I have Twilight Fever, a dupe for Chanel Paradoxel and Revlon Perplex. Twilight Fever is a grey-toned deep plum polish with pink/violet shimmer that really makes this polish what it is! The shimmer is more violet then pink, but in certain light it takes on the more pink. This is two coats. I really enjoy Ulta3's formula for being a cheap-y polish and can't wait to swatch the rest of my bunch!

Next up I have Lagoon to share. This is the one Ulta3 that Laurent picked out for me to add in our swap. Great pick, girl! I know I'm one of the only polish addicts on the planet we enjoy frost polishes, but I love the delicate lime green frost in Lagoon! I didn't realize how sheer thee two coats were until I uploaded these pics, so next time I'm going with three.

Old and New - Wet 'n' Wild Precious Metals Lilac Metal & China Glaze Electric Pineapple

Good Morning!

I hope every is having a good week, I'm in the middle of working twelve days in a row, so thank goodness I swatched fifteen polishes the other day to have all of these posts ready. Today I have a really fun vintage Wet 'n' Wild to share with you - a Precious Metals! I found this forgotten beauty at my usual thrift store for I think two bucks. Lilac Metal is a really stunning Spring polish (in my opinion) and the formula really held up after all these years. This is three thin coats, and it dried so fast!

Next up for the new section I have a China Glaze to share - Electric Pineapple from Last Years Island Escape collection. I've had this polish since then and never swatched it until now. And now I know why. This polish just kind of makes me go "Eh." I know it's a dupe for OPI's Fiercely Fiona (which I have the mini for) and I feel the same for that polish as well. It's a pretty color that does nothing for me, plain and simple. Maybe a pedicure color? I'll try it out. Patchy formula as with most cremes of this nature. Three coats for evenness.  

Are there those colors for you that are just "blah"?
