Orly - Ancient Jade

Good Morning!

Don't know why I've been reaching for only new(er) polishes lately. I barely have time to paint my nails let alone go digging through my Helmers. I have been snagging the first one to catch my attention. I was in the mood for a crisp creme the other day, and a mint green type polish really had my attention. Ancient Jade is from Orly's Spring 2011 Precious Collection. I think I swatched this back when I very first got into polish and haven't touched it since. I think I want a more minty green (lighter) in my stash so I'll have to keep my eyes open for one this Spring. This is two coats.

Have a great day, lovlies!

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

Oh hey there!

Yea, yea, yea. It's been almost three months. I know. Life's gotten into the way. Planning a wedding, getting a new job and promotion, having more of a social life, having other new hobbies/passions (Warhammer 40k, wax blogging) that polish blogging just took a back seat. I stopped buying for a while, I even stopped painting my nails for over a month and a half. The passion's coming back to me though! I've been buying polish like crazy again (poor wallet) and I might even be up to swatching if I ever get the time! For now I have a quick swatch to share that I never uploaded, China Glaze's Running In Circles from their Cirque Du Soleil collection. Who can go wrong with a great green glitter this bright?! I hope this isn't my last post for another three months, I'll be back soon! ;)

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Sally Hansen Salon - Project Runway

Happy Monday, gals! (ugh. I know. Came way too fast.)

Today I have a polish that had been on my wish list FOREVER and thanks to good ol' eBay it's finally MINE! Project Runway was the one that got away for so long, since it was a Canadian release only. (BTW, why do you always release awesome Canadian exclusives, Sally?! NOT. COOL.) Everything about this polish is freaking amazing. The color? That rich, yet glowing forest green polish. The glitter? Irregular micro glitter in a golden green. The sheerness of the polish really adds depth to it as well. I wore this polish for DAYS before it chipped to the point of no return. Gah, I love this dang polish so much. I miss the old square Salon bottles, too. This is three coats of one amazing @$$ polish.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Mermaid's Tale: DL Across The Universe Dupe!

TGIF!

I can't believe it's already Friday, this week FLEW by! I know I've been MIA on and off lately, but I've been slowly getting back into the groove. I love blogging more than anything, but sometimes when you loose that motivation it's better to take a step back rather then to push it.

As a vintage polish collector, I rarely ever get really excited about new release polishes. In my mind there's an endless supply of old polishes to rediscover and get excited about. But lately I've been getting REALLY excited about a lo of new polishes coming out! One of them that I NEW I had to have is today's polish, Sally Hansen's Mermaid's Tale. I've ALWAYS wanted DL's Across The Universe, and never had a chance to get my hands on Essence Blue Addicted. So when I saw the first pics of Mermaid's Tale I squealed and start my hunt! I found this bad boy at CVS for those of you who are on the hunt as well. Formula was a little on the tricky side. Very sheer for the first coat, and no matter how long I let the coats dry and how thin I applied them, it got goopy and thick. This is four coats.

Enjoy your Friday!

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Cremes

Happy Saturday!

I hope you all have a great weekend planned! I work a short shift then we're headed over to our friends house. I've been really stressed out from work and been suffering from horrible headaches, so tomorrow I'll be taking it easy for SURE.

Today I have two vintage Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Cremes to share. Since I started collecting polish, my vintage SH stash has GROWN! What can I say? I'm a sucker for the matching handles. I've said it before and I'll say it again, BRING THEM BACK, SALLY!

First up today I have Racy Creme, a deep vampy brown creme. I've really been into shades like these lately. This is two coats.

Next up I have Trendy Creme to share. I LOOOOOVE this color! It dances on the fine line of beautiful and ugly just a little bit. I love the dustiness to the green. This is two coats as well.

Have a great weekend!

Ulta3 Glitters - Part 2

Hey there girls! It's time for part two! I hope you're all enjoying these glitters as much I have am! Swatching them was such a blast!

First up I have Over The Rainbow to share. Gah I just fall head over heels for these rainbow glitters. I own way more then any girl really should, but I'm pretty sure many of you can say the same. :p Over The Rainbow is awesome with the color mixture in the clear base, but the brush on this one was wonky and really thin. It was so odd compared to the other five. Manufacturing issue? Probably. This is two coats over Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Racy Creme.

Next up I have Luck Of The Irish. This, ladies, is my favorite of all six! Why you may ask? Let's see.... it's my favorite color, (GREEEEEEEEN!) it's glitter, and it's named after my second favorite holiday, St. Patty's Day. This bad boy will definitely be on my nails this year! This is two coats over Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Trendy Creme.

Last but not least I have Twinkle Toes to share. This is by far the blingy-est of the six! I LOVE how bright it is! PERFECT for the holidays for sure - maybe over a red? (My mind always turns to Christmas LOL!) This is two coats over Maybelline Zip Fly.

I hope you all enjoyed these as much as I did!

Orly - Jungle Love

Happy Sunday!

I hope you're all having a fun weekend. Today we're going to lunch with friends on the Ocean Front then to a friends house for a football game. It's my first day off in over a week so I'm excited!

Today I have an awesome vintage Orly to share, Jungle Love. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I MISS AND LOVE THE OLD BOTTLE TYPES! They're large and chunky, easy to hold, I simply adore them to pieces. I think I have five now, and I need more! Jungle Love is a sheer, build-able dirty olive green shimmer polish. My lovely polish BFF Jacqui gifted this to me - thank you so much my love!  This is three coats.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! China Glaze - Party Hearty

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It's officially my favorite holiday of the year! I always get sad right before Christmas because I know it'll be over soon and I have to wait a whole year again. I'm such a dork. Jeffrey and I aren't going home for the holidays this year, I work (DOUBLE TIME, BABY!) till 3, then he's cooking me a fancy dinner and I think we might go see a movie. I can't wait! I'll miss my family and friends but it's nice coming up with my own traditions.

I tried to find the perfect holiday polish to use on Christmas, and while searching through my stash it dawned on me China Glaze Party Hearty will be PERFECT! Party Hearty came out in their Holiday 2010 Collection, 'Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice. Party Hearty is a fun, festive, chunky glitter that consists of different sizes of green, red, and gold glitter. It's HTF now, so I was happy so snag this from a blog sale for only eight bucks. This is three coats over Bonita Treasure Chest.

MERRY, MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Sally Hansen - Mistletoe

We meet again!

I'm sorry, did you say you were ready to see another vintage Sally Hansen Christmas glitter? Well hot damn, you're in luck! ;P

Today I have Mistletoe to share. There's nothing complex to it really, just a mixture of small and bar glitter in a clear base. But what I really love about it is the vibrant, festive green love to the glitter! It's so Christmas-y and fun! There are so many SH glitters floating around on eBay right now, and I need them all. ALLLLL. I need more monies first. :p This is two coats over Cover Girl Red Revolution.

Have a fun day, all!
