TGIF!

Today's another day off for me, so go figure I have an awful headache. :/ So this is going to be a snappy post.

Today I have Calvin Klein's Tutu to share, another blog sale find. THIS POLISH IS AWESOME! Tutu is a deep black/brown based polish with gold duochrome shimmer. Formula was nice and smooth. This is two coats.

L'Oreal - Brit Invasion

Hello there!

Today I a new L'Oreal polish to share, Brit Invasion. I feel like I never see new L'Oreal polish displays here in Virginia Beach! I don't know why, I see everything else as it comes out. Hmmm.... Anyhoo, this is from their London Fall LE collection. Paulina luckily came to my rescue! She sent this along with lots of other goodies, thanks again, babe! Make sure you check out her blog, The Gore Princess

Brit Invasion in a milky medium chocolate brown/taupe polish with with amazing gold shimmer. Such a warm and fuzzy color LOL if that makes sense! Great for winter more so than fall in my opinion. Formula was really great, this is two coats.

I didn't notice the sparse green glitter in there as well until I saw this macro shot!
Anyone end up snatching this up as well?

OPI - Germanicure

Happy Saturday, ya'll!

A lot of people here in Virginia say ya'll, so why can't a girl from Cleveland living here, right? :p Today I have one of the three polishes I snagged from this fall's OPI Germany collection. You guessed it - I got all the reds. My love for red polish knows no bounds. Today I have Germanicure to share with you, and man is it a beauty! Germanicure is a deep brown toned red shimmer polish. Formula was a tad on the thin side, but it really evened out and got opaque after the second coat. This polish to me screams fall and winter! I see myself reaching for this polish again and again for the months to come. I love fall and I love fall collections!

Have a great weekend!

Nicole By OPI Fall 2012 Target Exclusive - For Gold Times Sake

TGIF!

I know I've said it before, but it feels really good to be back to blogging! Today I have another Nicole By OPI Target Exclusive for Fall 2012 polish from the lovely Ryan, For Gold Times Sake. I don't have anything like this in my stash and it really is unique! A green/brown/gold mixture of metallic shifts and flakies. I think there's even a little purple/blue somewhere in there!  I remember when I wore it it looked different to me depending on the light. It's just seriously awesome. I really enjoyed the formula. Two coats.

Have a great Friday!

Essence Snow White Collection Part 2: Prince Charming, Sleepy, & Sneezy

Hello again!

It's time for day two for Essence's Snow White Collection!

First up for today's post I have my favorite glitter topcoat from the collection, Prince Charming. The formula was the best with this one. I love the whimsical feel this polish lends to the mix, it definitively reminds me of Prince Charming for sure! This clear-based polish starts off with fine silver and holo glitter with large blue hex glitter. This is one coat over Sleepy.

And now we have Sleepy, a pastel blue polish with bright blue shimmer swimming within. I love the color, reminds me of Spring, but the formula was tough. Without the right base coat (I used Seche Base) It spotted like that new OPI polish. This is three coats for evenness.

SHIMMAH!
Next I have Sneezy, a fantastic cocoa brown polish with silver micro fine glitter. Formula was ON POINT. PERFECT. This polish reminds me of smooth milk chocolate. I really like this one. :)

Yummy!
Stay tuned for day 3!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics - Morning Java

Happy Hump day!

Today is the fourth polish I have to share from Kaz's Pretty Serious Cosmetics collection, Morning Java. I've never been able to find a lot of  brown polishes I love. I have a vintage Maybelline creme that has a nice, earthy feel to it, but nothing I've been able to drool over. MEET MY NEW FAVORITE brown polish! OMG, Morning Java, OMG. O_O You're the more vibrant and stunning step sister to Warm and Fozzie. Seriously, this polish NEEDS to be seen to believe. This is two smooth, dreamy coats. This is a must in every stash in my opinion. Breathtaking.

Like I said, breathtaking.
What are your favorite brown polishes?

Layering Fun - China Glaze Luxe and Lush & Maybelline Ultimate Wear Creamy Cocoa

Hey girls!

As I continue on my love for China Glaze's Hunger Games collection, I decided to take the plunge while at Ulta and buy Luxe and Lush. I normally am not a fan of these kind of flakies at all, but the bottle just looked so pretty sitting there on the almost bare display - I couldn't help myself. I must say - as beautiful as it may be, the flakies were a pain in my butt to get to lay flat and situate. Alas, the end result was worth it indeed. Luxe and Lush represents the Capitol in the collection and I think it does a fine job indeed! I layered two coats over Maybelline Ultimate Wear's Cocoa Cream. I wanted to lend an earthy feel to this polish to go along with the rest of the collection. Enjoy!

Underneath the flakies I used Cocoa Cream. I really wanted to use an earthy color underneath and I was glad to finally use it in a mani! (It had been sitting untried for a long time now!) Cocoa Cream's name describes it oh so well! A smooth, chocolaty cream indeed! Great formula - two coats.

Have a fantastic day! -Dana

Old and New - Cover Girl Nail Slicks Chocolate Mint & Spoiled I'm So Jaded

Hi dolls!

Today I'm going to start off today's post with one of my favorite Cover Girl Nail Slicks polishes - Chocolate Mint. This lovely was gifted to me by - yes, you guessed it - Jacqui and I almost died when I saw it! The name describes this polish to a T as well. A milk chocolaty brown base, and loaded with a light iridescent green shimmer. The effect is just stunning in person and I did my best to do this polish justice in pictures. :) I believe that this polish is meant to be worn on the sheer side - this is two coats although next time I might try three for good measure. This polish is SERIOUSLY yummy.

Next up I have yet another Spoiled polish to share - I'm So Jaded. This green polish lover loves nothing more than a vibrant in-your-face lime green! Add gold yellow shimmer? SOLD! As I said before I couldn't stand their brushes but as I practice more with them I'm starting to like them more and more. If my nails were any smaller though I'd be painting my whole finger. Formula was thick. This is two coats.

Which Spoiled polishes do you like? How do you feel about the brushes?

Sephora by OPI- 212

Happy Sunday, polish addicts!

Today I have a polish that I've been lemming for forever and never thought I'd actually get my hands on - Sephora by OPI's 212. EVERY TIME I tried to buy it in store the spot was empty and every time I tried to order it online it was sold out. The polish Gods smiled upon me my last trip home to Ohio and during my meet-up with Jacqui and Krista, low and behold - it was in stock! Looking back I really should have grabbed a back-up as well. *Kicks myself* Ah well, at long last it is finally mine! *maniacal laughter ring in the air* I forgot to get a macro-shot of this beauty, but the swatches speak for themselves. :)

212 was originally only available in Sephora's in NYC. Thanks goodness the rest of us can get lucky enough to get our hands on it now! There is just so much going on in 212. It starts off with a dark brown almost black jelly base. Then it is JAM PACKED with a gold shimmer. After that, holo micro-glitter and flakies flashing from yellow to orange to green are added. The result is truly amazing! So much depth to this bad boy. The formula was prety great as well, this is two coats. I've never really been a fan of Sephora by OPI polishes in the past, but lately they're been really growing on me.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Old and New - Loreal Bijou Gems B. Strong and Catrice Lost In Mud

TGIF!

It's time for another Old and New post! First up I have a polish that I am MORE than happy to call one of my all-time favorite greens! B. Strong comes from Loreal's discontinued Bijou Gems. I AM SO FREAKIN IN LOVE! Look and prepare to be amazed! (This instantly reminded me of a color my friend Jacqui would love!)

Highly pigmented? CHECK! Blazing lime green metallic color? CHECK! Opacity perfection in two thin coats? CHECK! Glows from within? CHECK! I need a back up. Or two. Or three. AH-MAZING! I want to snatch up every single Bijou Gems.

Next up I have my very first Catrice polish, Lost In Mud. I got this polish from a blog sale and have a couple more on their way to me from Germany in a recent swap. Can't wait! :D I love discovering new brands.

Lost In Mud is a murky - you guessed it - mud colored brown jelly/creme polish. I really loved the squishy look and feel to this polish. This is two coats although after uploading pics I realized I could have gone with three.
