Nicole By OPI Fall 2012 Target Exclusive - For Gold Times Sake

TGIF!

I know I've said it before, but it feels really good to be back to blogging! Today I have another Nicole By OPI Target Exclusive for Fall 2012 polish from the lovely Ryan, For Gold Times Sake. I don't have anything like this in my stash and it really is unique! A green/brown/gold mixture of metallic shifts and flakies. I think there's even a little purple/blue somewhere in there!  I remember when I wore it it looked different to me depending on the light. It's just seriously awesome. I really enjoyed the formula. Two coats.

Have a great Friday!

Nicole By OPI Target Exclusive for Fall - Mer-Maid For Each Other

Happy Hump Day!

This past August a group of lovely ladies and fellow bloggers participated in a 2012 Nail BFFs Gift Exchange - AKA Christmas in August! The wonderful Amanda organized this Secret Santa and it was a blast! I had so much fun shopping for my draw and I was AMAZED when I opened mine! The GENEROUS and AWESOME Ryan over at Naild In The South got me. She's a fan of my blog and simply spoiled me rotten. Not only that, but she's an awesome chick and we even exchanged digits to text! Icing on the cake to amazing polish? Hand made Alcide bookmark and card. (My True Blood crush!) and lots of Hello Kitty gear. Now to the polish!

Ryan was so awesome she included who polishes from Nicole By OPI's Target Exclusives for Fall 2012. The whole collection has such range in finishes and colors and this bad boy was one I knew I would love! Mer-Maid For Each Other is a vibrant green metallic polish that flashes a duochrome of blue, yellow, and gold. It really glows and stands out on the nail! I really enjoyed the formula more than I thought I would. This is two coats. I got so many complainants. I knew these types of greens are all over the place now, but I adore this all the more. Love.

Have a fantastic day, ladies! (and gents?...)

Old and New - China Glaze - Violet Hush & Nicole by OPI's Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam

Hello there!

Today is another Old and New post! For the Old section I have China Glaze's Violet Hush, yet another great blog sale find! Violet Hush is an old China Glaze with the old bottle style, silver cap, and silver lettering as well. I love this polish for it's mauve color, and I actually enjoy it's frostiness, which I know most don't enjoy in the nail community. I'm weird, it's okay. It's a less obvious type of frost and I really love it on my nails! Great formula, almost a one-coater but went with two.

Next up I have the base color that I used to Red Carpet Lacquer's Grifter - Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam by Nicole for OPI. The name makes me want to puke in my mouth, but the color itself is awesome! I love the deepened teal color so much. The formula was pretty decent, this is two coats.

Have a fantastic day!

Old and New - Revlon CitrusZing & Nicole by OPI Shoot For The Maroon

AGAIN, Monday?! This sneaking up on me thing - you need to give it a rest! :P I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter/Passover weekend. Jeff and I don't have any family here in Virginia Beach, so we lounged around in our PJ's all day - eating sweets and watching Invader Zim and DragonBall Z. Onto the polish! I also got a lot of swatching done over the weekend, so I have great posts coming this week as well. First up for today I have Revlon's CitrusZing. I have been lemming like crazy over all the Zings (esp. the Euro ColorZings - although I don't think I'll ever see them in person in this lifetime. Sigh.) Meanwhile I had been searching down the rest of the Zings with little luck. That is until my amazing and big-hearted fellow blogger friend Esther blew my socks off and surprised me with not one but three Zings in our last swap! I actually screamed a little. No joke. Esther - LOVE YOU LOTS! <3 Seriously, *Big bear hug*.

CitrusZing is a dusty golden rose semi-duochrome polish. It shows up on the nail but it's hard to capture in pictures. Who cares?! It's a Zing and I love it. The color is soft and pretty on my skin tone. BONUS. This is two coats.

You can see the colors much better in the bottle :P
Next up I have Nicole by OPI's Shoot For The Maroon. I don't have many polishes by this brand. I only started buying them when my work (CVS) recently started carrying them and I get a discount LOL. This is one of the new shades for 2012. I gravitated straight towards it's duochrome shimmer shifting from a golden to maroon, the gold was a little tricky to capture on the nail. It's amazing and gorgeous! This is two flawless coats.

Awesome, right?
Have a great week! -D

Old and New - China Glaze In The Mood & Nicole by OPI Kourt Is Red-y For A Pedi

Happy Tuesday!

Or in my case, Monday! My friend from back home was in Virginia Beach through yesterday. It was wonderful to have her here - great food, good drinks, shopping, & the Ocean Front! :D It's back to the grind today so I thought I'd start off today's post with a fun dusty find - one of China Glaze's vintage In The Mood polishes. There was no name on this bad boy, but the vibrant yet sheer light lime green color really drew me in. The matching shimmer is a real winner! This polish was too old to change color, but that's fine by me - I love this shade just the way it is! Formula was just fine. This is two coats.

Next up I have another polish from Nicole By OPI's Kardashian Kolors collection - Kourt Is Red-y For a Pedi. I love bright, in-your-face tomato red creme polishes SOOOO much! They look great with my skin-tone and they have a sexy yet sophisticated feel to it. The brush and formula were great, this is two coats.

Have a great day! <3 Dana

CND Effects in Gold Sparkling over Nicole by OPI - Hard-Kourt Fashionista

Happy Hump Day!

Today I have two freaking amazing polishes in one of my favorite layering combos I've ever done! I love and want pretty much every polish from Nicole by OPI's Kardashian line - not only because I'm addicted to their shows, (I know, I know....) but the colors are just awesome! Kourtney is my favorite (yes, again, I know, I know.....) and Hard-Kourt Fashionista is amazing! Vampy, dark, and sophisticated. Right up my alley! Add CND Effects in Gold Sparkling and it's a match made in Heaven. I'm wearing it now and don't ever want to take it off!

Amazing, right???? Let's discuss the CND first! I recently bought my very FIRST CND polishes (crazy, right?) and this shimmer topcoats are phenomenal. Gold Sparkling is wonderful after just one coat as well! A mixture of ultra, ultra fine gold micro-glitter and holo glitter glams up any mani. In the sun it just POPS! I love finding new layering combos. LOVE!

So now it's time to talk about Hard-Kourt Fashionista. I DIE for vampy deep reds. For forever my favorite has been Deborah Lippman's Dark Side Of The Moon, but now I think it's got a run for it's money! I'm so in love I can't even describe. I think I need a back up! This is two coats. Formula was flawless and smooth.

Oh, CND, you sly dog, you!
Thanks for looking! <3Dana

Nicole by OPI - Kim-Pletely In Love

Hey dolls!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I was off work and did nothing but relax! I was well needed and much deserved! I know I'm late posting polishes from Nicole By OPI's Kardashian collection, but we just now got them at my work - CVS - so I was finally able to buy them with my employee discount! *jumps up and down* I know I'm not much of a pink person, but one of the colors I wanted the most was Kim-Pletely In Love. What can I say? The shimmer was calling to me! :)

This romantic polish starts off with a sheer light pink polish, it has a wonderful milky finish to it. Next up, there's an AMAZING hidden shimmer within, what I would say is a iridescent blue/white shimmer. It's really hard to say, when I was wearing this the shimmer flashed different colors in different light. This is three coats.

Romantic shimmer!

Have a great Monday! <3Dana

Nicole by OPI - Rich In Spirit

Good Mornin!

This morning I have a polish for you from the fiance for my birthday! How great is he? He actually went to Ulta on his OWN and picked me out a bunch of polishes! Also, it's fun to see what polishes he would like to see me wear. And let me tell you, they guy did a great job! :D Here I have Rich in Spirit By Nicole by OPI.

Oh my, do I really love this color! Lately I've been really drawn to foils polishes, and Rich In Spirit does not fail to disappoint! It's so shiny!! Despite the baby blue color, it actually applied easy as can be in only two coats. This is only my second Nicole by OPI polish, and so far I really seem to like them although I've read mixed reviews. Great job, Jeffrey!

Overall, a lovely foil polish! I can see myself reaching for this as a spring polish again, and again, & again!

Nicole By OPI polishes can be purchased at Ulta, Walmart, & other mass retailers for around $7.99.
