Retro Sunday Squared With The Scholarly Nail - Vintage Urban Decay

Here we go again!

Jacqui and I love doing these posts, and today we have vintage Urban Decays to share. Jacqui has some first generation UD's to share so I cannot WAIT to see what she has to share today! EXCITING! (And yes, I'm very jealous LOL!) I love Urban Decay polishes. I think I have about a dozen or more second generation polishes in my stash and I have many on my wishlist!

First up I have Trip to share. Trip is a fun, yet admittingly not unique,it's a bright fuchsia polish with blue-toned shimmer. Great summer pink! Trip is an eBay find, the sticker was missing on the bottom but I let that slide since the price was right. Two coats.

Next we I have Hot Pants, the newest addition to my UD collection. I was the sole person bidding on this on eBay was it was in perfect condition when it arrived, it seemed as if it had never even been opened. Hot Pants is a nude/light pink metallic polish. I'm not sure how keen I am of it with my skin tone, but I really like the polish itself. Three coats.

Don't forget to check out Jacqui's blog!

Urban Decay - Midnight Cowboy

Hello again!

Today I have a new *squee!* vintage Urban Decay polish to share, Urban Cowboy. This is the polish that started my massive two-part swap with the ever amazing, totally sweet Lani. Did I ever mention how much you rock? <3

Urban Cowboy is one of those classic vintage Urban Decays. I totally remember actually owning this as a teenage back when they were sold at Nordstrom. It's just such a great nude polish, what can I say?! At the base is a creamy nude shimmer polish with holo glitter! Holo glitter makes everything better, it seriously does. This is a very office appropriate polish. Two coats.

Check out that glitter!
Have a great day!

Vintage Hard Candy - Love Child

Good Morning!

I hope you're all having a great day so far - I have the day off and I think I'm chopping off all my hair..... I *THINK*... :P I also think we settled on our new apartment to move into. EXCITING STUFF!

Today I have another vintage Hard Candy to share - Love Child. Yet another gift from Jacqui, this beauty is a happy addition to my growing Hard Candy stash. Love Child is a sparkling nude metallic polish with pink undertones. It has quite a whimsical feel to it! The formula was a little thin, so this is three coats. *Adds to growing fave neutral polish list*

Have a wonderful day! <3

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails with Nylon - Stellar

Hey polish addicts!

I recently found an eBay seller who is selling LOTS of Sally Hansen glitters. Naturally, I bought..... FIVE! LOL! Today I have one of them to share, Stellar. Stellar is a gorgeous summer glitter polish, it reminds me of shimmering sands! The mirco-fine neutral glitter with scattered holo glitter is so pretty in the sun! Like I said, reminds me of the beach! This polish is actually good with coverage, this is Stellar by itself after three coats. So delicate! Love.

Well done, Sally!

Old and New - Revlon Sphinx & Maybelline Be Scene In Green

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I hope everyone's weekend is going well! We are spending the day apartment hunting - this should be fun! :) I have an Old and New post for share today, and my polish for the Old section is a gift from the lovely Esther - Revlon Sphinx. OHHHH MAN! I've been on the hunt for great new nude polishes, and this is on the tippy-top of the fave list! A creamy nude polish with pink shimmer, it reminds me of Essie's Demure Vixen. Only it looks much creamier? Make sense? LOL Hope so! This is two coats.

Love that shimmer!
For the new section, I have a polish that I blame entirely on Kaz. In a good way! :D As I've mentioned in the past, 99.9999% of my lemmings are her fault. LOL! As soon as I saw this post of hers, I immediately ran over to eBay (or clicked..) and paid a mere $3.49 WITH SHIPPING. What a steal! Be Scene In Green is just amazing. This baby GLOOOOOWS green with golden shimmer. It's freakin' stunning, ladies! Two coats. YOU NEED THIS POLISH IN YOUR STASH!

Have a great end to your weekend! <3

Borghese Almondine

Hold onto your seats, ladies! It's Borghese's Almondine! My lovely and amazing friend Rie posted this polish HERE, I immediately knew it had to be mine. I've been on the hunt lately for nude polishes and this very well be my new fave. What makes Almondine one of a kind? It's flattering color, micro/teeny tiny black flecks and pink shimmer of course! Add smooth formula and I'm in LOVE PEOPLE! After Rie posted this polish, it went to VHTF status is a day. I had it in my eBay cart and by the end of the day it was gone. Lucky me I found it in a blog sale for 3 bucks. :) Two coats.

Macro shot! (....Rie's are much better LOL...)

Pink shimmah!
Are you as in love with Almondine as I am?! :D

Old and New - Vintage Hard Candy Angel & Zoya's Willow

Welcome, fellow polish addicts!

It's time for yet another Old and New post. I hope these are as fun for you as they are for me. It's Thursday! Which means tomorrow is Friday! Which means I'm off all weekend! WOO HOO! Let's start this post off right with one of my newly bought vintage Hard Candy polishes, Angel. Let's not let the frosty 90's-ness of the polish put you off. It's a polish for the era! Let's take a look!

Angel is a frosty nude/peach polish with hidden surprise - it was almost opaque after just one coat! A frosty one-coater?!? I was pleasantly happy with this polish for that reason and for the fact that I know once I get a tan this will look MUCH BETTER with my skin-tone! This is two coats - I never seem to stop myself at one. :P

Next up we have Zoya's Willow! As a die-hard Buffy fan, I couldn't pass up getting the Willow polish to hang out with my Buffy in my stash. :D Sometimes we all buy polishes just for the name. ADMIT IT! You know you do :) Thank goodness in this case I ended up really loving the color that came with the name. Willow is a peachy/pink polish swimming with delicate  shimmer. I think it's a great fall color! This is two coats. It was a tad on the thick side for Zoya, but I got the hang of it.

Have a great Thursday!

Essence - The Twilight Saga Eclipse Collection - Ready To Be Bitten

Hi girls!

Something awful has happened. My nails were at a PERFECT length for me. Long enough to swatch, short enough to type at work. THEN the most horrible thing happened. My hand slipped while opening my car door and I broke the nail on my middle finger. Since I just CAN'T being myself to nub them all down, I'm just going to grow that sucker back out and leave the rest be. So, for the next while I'm going to be showcasing pretty neutral colors as to not bring attention to it's sudden shortness. Here is Ready To Be Bitten from Essence's Eclipse collection.

As a huge Essence fan AND Twilight fan, I made it a goal to get my claws on this whole collection. So far, I only have this one that I got from a blog sale. LOL, I'm still on the hunt! These things take time... Anyhoo, Ready To Be Bitten is as pretty as neutral polishes come. It starts off with a milky off-white sheer base and is packed with gold and a hunt of light pink shimmer. It really has a great glow to it! This is three coats. I'm thinking this bad boy would be great for layering. *starts pondering*

Pretty!

Old and New: Vintage Cutex Shine On polish in Cashmere & W7 Nail Polish in Metallic Saturn

TGIF!

Only two days left in good old Ohio... sure going to miss this place! Time sure does fly when you're on vacation and visiting the ones you love. Goes way too fast! I can't believe the amount of polish I've accumulated so far and I still haven't gone to my meet-up yet. :P Today I have a vintage polish that certainly isn't beautiful/unique in a stand-out way - but I found it at the thrift store and it's the oldest Cutex bottle I've ever seen. For 45 cents, adding a gallon of thinner is a piece of cake. Here is Cashmere.

Cashmere is an orange-toned nude polish. As I mentioned, I had to add SO MUCH Seche Restore to get it to be wearable. I'm SUCH A sucker for vintage polishes, I'd go as far as to say I've grown obsessed. I may not love this color, but the bottle as old as it is drew me in and has me hunting for more! This is two coats.

<3 it's vintage look!

Next up I have yet ANOTHER new brand I got to try during my swap with the lovely Esther. I had seen W7 polishes and their amazing colors on fellow nail blogs, and was so excited when she had chosen Metallic Saturn for me. Thanks again, girl! My being a HUGE green polish nut, I almost fell over when I unwrapped this bad boy. GREEN?!? METALLIC?!? DUOCHROME?!?! AGHH!!!!!

These kind of gold-toned green metallic polishes are among my FAVORITES!!!!! JUST LOOK AT IT!!! It just freaking glows, girls! I wish I had enough of Metallic Saturn to swim in. Seriously. Well not really. Kinda weird if you think about it, really. I can't tell you enough how amazing this polish is. It's stunning in pictures, but in person - watch out. This is two coats.

I could just die.
