Ruby Kisses - Purple Twilight

Happy Hump Day!

*sigh* These are my nails not even a week ago before I had an awful break and filed to nubbins. I miss them at this length but having nubbies makes typing at work a lot easier!

Today I have a fantastic vintage Ruby Kisses polish to share, Purple Twilight from the ever-so-amazing Jacqui. After diving head first into the realm of vintage polish, I have fallen in love with Ruby Kisses. I think I have over a dozen now and I love them all. *here's looking at you, Khaki!* Purple Twilight is a deep shimmery plum base with silver glitter, and the result reminds me of a homecoming dress I once wore. :P Smooth formula, two coats.

Have a great day!

Old and New - Ruby Kisses Blue Pearl & OPI Goin' Ape-ricot!

Welcome back!

I'm just going to cut to the chase today since I'm running a tad late - today is an Old and New post! for the old polish today I have a Ruby Kisses polish that I received as a freebie in a blog sale order - Blue Pearl. I have become a HUGE Ruby Kisses fan, and make it a deep, glowy blue? I'm sold. I think I have a ten to fifteen blues of the shade, all dupes of one another, but I love them all equally. The formula on this was actually a little runny. This is three coats.

For the new polish today I have an OPI to share. I don't really own a lot of OPI's and I have to admit with all the other amazing brands out there I usually pass on their collections. (except for their upcoming Spider-man collection! The comic book geek in my is grinning ear to ear) I won't deny the fact though, that their vintage HTF greens top my wish list. (Rainforest and Real Teal) But when I came across this sparkly glassed flecked orange at the thrift store for $2.99 I couldn't pass it up. Goin' Ape-ricot! is a sheer and juicy light orange polish that really looks great with a few thin coats and screams summer! I'll let ya have the one, OPI! :P This is three coats.

Have a great day! -d

Vintage Gems - Cover Girl Nail Slicks Midnight Forest & Ruby Kisses Khaki

TGIF!!!

I hope you all have a fun weekend planned! As for Jeff and I, we have a cookout to go to and apartments to see. Should be a fun lil Saturday and Sunday. :) Today I have two absolutely awesome vintage polishes to share. I've been completely digging deep, dark, shimmery shades lately and these were both worn as full manis. First up we have Cover Girl Nail Slicks' Midnight Forest. Midnight Forest is a blackened emerald green polish with grey shimmery undertones. Oh goodness this polish makes me drool! This is one of my favorite vampy greens I own. This is three thin coats. Another is the other polish in this post. :)

Next I have the completely amazing and mind-blowing Khaki by Ruby Kisses. WOWZA. Just WOWZA. O_O This is one of my favorite polishes I own now and this is why! Darkened khaki green with golden green shimmer. It's sophisticated yet funky. I really should have gotten a shot of it in the sun to really show off the shimmer. This is two butter smooth coats. One of my top blog sale finds EVER.

Have a great Friday, gals! -Dana

Vintage Gems - Ruby Kisses Disco Gold & Maybelline Salon Finish Maybe Navy

Hey polish lovers!

I have so many photos floating around in my computer, it's time to share these lovlies already! The first I have to share is actually the manicure I wore for St. Patty's Day. I started off with Revlon Street Wear's Toad (one of my go-to greens. In LOVE with this color!) and added two coats of Ruby Kisses Disco Gold. Disco Gold is funny to me because it's really not a gold polish at all. It's a light green sheer based polish with holo glitter. My guess is since this is a vintage polish, once upon a day it was gold and age turned it into the pretty green shade we see before us today! I won't complain! :P

I <3 you, Ruby Kisses.

Next up I have the base color I chose for yesterdays Ringer post, Maybelline Salon Finish Maybe Navy. Maybe Navy is a smooth navy creme polish that dried to a really incredible shine. This is two smooth coats. I really loved the application for this polish.

Have a great start to your week! <3 Dana

Old and New - Ruby Kisses Forest Green & MUA shade 1

Hey now!

I'm eating almost an entire bag of Sour Patch Jelly Beans as I type my posts for the week. These things are addictive and delicious. If you haven't tried them yet - you MUST! Anyhoo, one of the polish brands I'm crazy into right now is vintage Ruby Kisses polish. I blame Kaz, her bottle shots had me drooling and scouring eBay. (Her whole blog is a giant lemming for me. :P) The first I nabbed was Forest Green, muted olive/army green frosty shimmer polish. It applied rather thin so I applied three coats here.

Next up I have another MUA polish from my previous swap with Esther. These little bottles really pack a punch and Shade 1 is real proof of that! A deep sapphire blue base with blue and slight silver glitter and shimmer. It's so glowing and lovely! The formula was pretty good, this is two coats. LOVE!

Ooo la la!
Take care, loves!-D
