Essie goodness!

What's up, ladies?! (Gentlemen?.....hmm....LOL!)

Today I have just lovely Essie spam for ya. I tend to overlook Essie's newer collections. They all tend to be boring cremes or nothing to catch my eye. Except for the oldies of course. Ruby Slippers and Viva La Vespa have a special place in my heart and my stash. I really love these three Essie's though. Sometimes they get it RIGHT!

First up I have Pink-A-Boo. I'm going to go ahead and blame this one on Scrangie. I'm not much of a pink person, and when I do chose pinks, they're never delicate. This was a shock to me that I gravitated towards this one! Pink-A-Boo is from Essie's Resort Collection that came out this past Spring. It has a milky pink base with duochrome-y shimmer swimming throughout. (FYI - it was impossible to capture the shimmer correctly, this polish must be seen in person!) The formula was pleasant. Three thin coats.

There ya go, you can see the shimmer.
Next up I have one of my favorite Essie's of all time, Dive Bar. Dive Bar starts off as a black-based polish with teal shimmer. I love how it looks almost multi-dimensional on the nail. In the bottle is shows a duochrome effect around the edges of the bottle. It can be stubborn when showing up  on the nail. Man I love this polish. Vampy blue goodness. Two coats.

Last but not least I have Luxedo from Essie's Winter 2010 Collection. Rie hooked me up with this vampy gem over the winter.  OMG I don't know where to start. I DIE (DIE!) for deep rich cremes. I love them so much. Even in the Summer. I'm weird, I know. This is one of my FAVES. A deep, dark rich plum - perfection. (Although it pulls more brown in pics. Odd. Trust me, it's purple.) The formula was amazing as well. Almost a one-coater.

TOMORROW'S THE WEEKEND!

Old and New - Milani Iris Ice & Essie Sew Psyched

Good Morning!

Today is another Old and New post, and for the old post I have my very FIRST vintage Milani with the old bottle shape. (Think old Sinful bottle.) This was gifted to me as a surprise by a lovely Twitter pal and I couldn't believe my big brown eyes! Iris Ice is a clear slightly tinted lavender based polish with micro-fine lilac glitter. It's freakin wonderful. I mean, come on! LOOK AT IT! This is three coats over Pretty Serious's Forbidden Fruit. Such a whimsical feel, LOVE!

For my New section I have one of my all-time favorite Essie's that I own to date, Sew Psyched. Classic dirty army green polish with hidden shimmer? YES PLEASE! Classic smooth Essie formula, two coats.

Have a great day!

Essie Ruby Slippers

Happy Friday!

Today I have a very, very special VHTF polish, Essie's Ruby Slippers, biiiitches! :D I've been trying to cut back on buying from Etsy and new collections and am focusing on my wish list and HTF gems I've been lemming. So far I've been doing.... better. LOL! I have so many polishes still sitting in my Helmer and tubs that I haven't even swatched yet. Time to catch up!

Let's focus on this beauty. More then worth all it's hype. It's everything I dreamed it would be and more! Where oh where do I even start? :) Red based polish LOADED with red glitter and sparse gold glitter. The way this glitters, my jaw hit the floor when it saw the sun. I have A LOT of red glitters and not one of them compare. Simply amazing. This is two coats, with one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite. (This glitter's a thirsty one!)

GLITTAH!
Any one else drooling? O_O

VHTF - Essie Viva La Vespa

Hey ladies!

I have an exciting post for you all today! I have a VVVHTF polish to share - one I was fairly sure I would never see in person.... that is until I came across a blog sale and my little fingers flew into action and this bad boy was mine! Viva La Vespa was a polish I didn't know much about when I was a nail newbie. Back when I went to my first nail meet-up, Krista and Jacqui each found themselves a bottle and I was like "woooooa what is THAT?!" Now that I'm an older newbie (that makes sense, right? LOL!)I wish I'd known then what I know now! I have countless purple polishes with blue shimmer, but what sets this apart is it's a pink/purple base rather than a red base. I now know what all the hype was about! It just glows! I'm lucky to have this beauty in my stash. Three thin coats of true love.

Do any of you drool over Viva La Vepsa?

Essie - Jelly Apple

Well hello there!

Today, ladies, I'm gettin back to my roots! Before I started my full-blown polish addiction, my number one go-to color was red! I loved it in every shade, it always made me feel sexy! Since starting my blog and discovering everything that's out there in the world of polish, my first love was buried. Until now! I'm going to starting digging out all of my old favorite red polishes to share! Today I have the lovely Jelly Apple!

Ahhh this polish just makes my mouth water! :p It's so juicy and ripe looking! Jelly Apply is a true, bright red with blue undertones. Jelly polishes are at the tippy-top of the faves list and this one reigns supreme! This is tow coats, I know most of you would have gone with three or more for a jelly, but I love this wear them sheer!

Essie - Midnight Cami

Good morning, dolls!

This morning I have another lovely polish from the fiance for my birthday, Essie's Midnight Cami. I'd heard the name pop up for this polish, and always had it in the back of my mind as an Essie I would like in the future. Jeff is such a great little mind reader. <3

Midnight Cami is a DEEP sapphire blue polish with cobalt blue shimmer woven within. Love the formula, application was great. I have one tiny complaint though - as beautiful as the shimmer may be in the bottle, it's very, very hard to spot it at all, even in the sun. I know it's there, but it would just be nice to have it be more apparent. Something I'm more than happy about though? It's the exact same color as my sapphire engagement ring! For that reason, and the reason Jeff bought it for me, this will have a permanent spot in my stash. :P

Essie polishes can be purchased at salons/*now* drugstores/Ulta, Etc and retail for $8/bottle

Essie - Power Clutch

Good Morning, lovlies!

Today I have for you a GREAT fall polish, Power Clutch from Essie's fall Carry-On collection. I really feel that all polish brands really brought amazing colors to the table with their fall collection, and Essie was no exception. I'm a SUCKER for a great grey polish, and all of my others were lighter shades, this is my first dark grey polish!

The first coat applied really nicely, not streaky at all. It could have been a one-coater, but I did use a second coat for consistancy. This grey creme has a wonderful sophfiscication to it, I can see myself reaching for this polish time and time again.

Final thoughts - everyone needs this polish! It made my nails feel so polished! (No pun intended LOL!) Essie polishes can be purchased at mass drugstores/salons for $8/bottle.

My Engagement Ring Manicure!

TGIF, ladies!
So, I got engaged July 21st and due to sizing issues, I just NOW got my engagement ring BACK! So I decided it was time to tribute my gorgeous ring by doing a matching manicure! It's my dream ring, my birthstone Sapphire has been my favorite stone forever and I've always loved vintage looking rings. My fiance Jeff hit the nail right on the head! :P Here we go!!!
I finally chose my blue for my Engagement Manicure, I picked aruba blue by essie. I love this blue sooo much, this is my first time using this polish, it just glows! Now that we sell essie at my work (CVS/Pharmacy) I've begun QUITE the essie collection! This is two coats. I wanted a nice silver glitter to match the diamonds on my ring, I chose Sparkling Diamonds by LA Colors Color Craze (bottle is numbered BCC 555). I love this glitter, only one coat and soooo much glitter comes off the brush. I love how it has large hexagonal glitter along with small glitter.
I'm so pleased with how this turned out! *pats self on the back* essie polishes can be polished as I said before at CVS/Pharmacy or salons for around $8/bottle. La Colors Color Craze can be at Dollar Tree for, well a dollar! They really do have a great selection!
