NOTD: Milani - Glitzy Stilettos

Hello there!

Today I thought I'd pop in and say hi and share a recent NOTD with you all! I had to completely chop my nails off (who white. YUP.) since my promotion training has my nails all bend out of shape. They were peeling and broken. So it's time to start over and let them breath and grow!

Today I have a polish that is all Kaz's fault. This post is why. Glitzy Stilettos is just so pretty I couldn't resist snatching it up on eBay for a mere few bucks. Sometimes, although I'm not a pink girl, I love a good pink polish. This is two coats. I think this would be a great pedicure color!

Have a great week! <3 Dana

Retro Sunday Squared With The Scholarly Nail - Vintage Urban Decay

Here we go again!

Jacqui and I love doing these posts, and today we have vintage Urban Decays to share. Jacqui has some first generation UD's to share so I cannot WAIT to see what she has to share today! EXCITING! (And yes, I'm very jealous LOL!) I love Urban Decay polishes. I think I have about a dozen or more second generation polishes in my stash and I have many on my wishlist!

First up I have Trip to share. Trip is a fun, yet admittingly not unique,it's a bright fuchsia polish with blue-toned shimmer. Great summer pink! Trip is an eBay find, the sticker was missing on the bottom but I let that slide since the price was right. Two coats.

Next we I have Hot Pants, the newest addition to my UD collection. I was the sole person bidding on this on eBay was it was in perfect condition when it arrived, it seemed as if it had never even been opened. Hot Pants is a nude/light pink metallic polish. I'm not sure how keen I am of it with my skin tone, but I really like the polish itself. Three coats.

Don't forget to check out Jacqui's blog!

This vintage polish collectors DREAM! *hugs bottles to my chest* First up I have Psychedelic to share, a clear-based polish with tiny pink glitter and holo bar glitter. MAN. This is two coats over Chanel Rouge Noir topped with Gelous.

Yep. Soak that in.
What do ya think?

Old and New - Revlon Top Speed Typhoon & Color Club Electro Candy

HAPPY SATURDAY!

I'm officially home and on vacation in Ohio! I decided to schedule my posts to keep the blog going while I'm out and about with my family and friends. Today is a classic Polished Claws Up! Old and New post! To start this off right I had a GREAT blue polish to share - a vintage Revlon Top Speed, Typhoon. I found this lovely at - yes, you guessed it, a blog sale. It is a highly shimmery, glowing medium blue that is just stunning! The formula was running but manageable. Two coats. I love Revlon.

For today's New section I have the name-sake for Color Club's Electro Candy collection which I picked up a while back at Ross's. I've been REALLY feeling neons lately (you're next, China Glaze!!!) and I love the blue shimmer swimming within this neon pink, it makes it pop even more! I can't wait to try out the rest of this collection. Two coats.

Have a great Saturday!

Old and New - Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds Jewel's N' Berries & OPI Princesses Rule!

Hey polish lovahs!

Today's another Old and New post! I'm starting off with a Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds polish, Jewel's N' Berries. I have a few from this line and I've always wanted more. This is where the lovely Lauren swoops in! She included this beauty in our recent swap. Did I mention yet she's the best? Jewel's N' Berries is a deep magenta polish LOADED with shimmer and micro glitter. Just gorgeous. Formula was still nice and smooth with time. Final verdict? I need more Wet Shine Diamonds.  Lots more.

Weird things happen as a polish lover. I normally fall head over heals for anything strange colored, vampy, green, or glittery. As of late, I've been craving delicate shades. After I read Scrangie's post on OPI's Princess Charming collection, I decided I need them all. A blogger pal had a blog sale & I came across Princesses Rule! *jaw hits the floor* It's such a perfect pink crystallic sheer polish. I love how it catches shades of silver and almost blue in some light. This is four coats and worth every one! This may very well be one of my favorite OPI's. Now the search continues for the rest. :P

Impressed? :)

Essence Crazy Good Times Part 1 - Confetteria & Princessorize

Happy hump day!

Today I have the first part of the amazing Essence Crazy Good Times collection! The moment I saw the promo pics pop up for this collection, I knew I couldn't live without it. This collection is almost like it's perfectly tailored to me LOL! Lucky for me I have the best polish friends with the biggest hearts and this time Sabine pulled through and hunted me down the entire collection! Love you, girl! Thank you a million times over! *hugs!* First up I what I think to be one of the highlights in the collection - Confetteria. It's a second cousin to DL's Across The Universe to me although I don't own it to compare. A deep cobalt blue jelly with orange and greenish micro glitter and blue iridescent glitter. This is two coats. I wore this polish until it practically chipped itself off! LOVE! ***side note - as much as I love this polish, it stained my nails ORANGE. All is forgiven, Essence, for a beauty like this.

Man I love this glitter!

Next up I have Princessorize. (not sure how they came up with these names LOL!) Oh this pink is my kinda pink indeed! Bright vibrant jelly with pink and purple/blue iridescent shimmer is the way to go! Man I see myself reaching for this as a summer pedicure and manicure color time and time again. This is two coats.

Enjoy your Wednesday! -Dana

Retro Sunday Squared with Scholarly Nail - Maybelline Glitters

                       Happy Sunday!

Today I have something really special to share with you - the first addition of Retro Sunday Squared with Jacqui over at The Scholarly Nail! Since she and I share the undying obsession with vintage polish, we wanted to put something special together every Sunday to share our love with all of you. Today is vintage Maybelline Glitters Day! Enjoy!

First up I have Express Finish glitter in Twinkle Pink, a lucky blog sale find! I have a lemming for the whole collection of Express Finish glitters and this is my lone one so far! :P Twinkle Pink is a very dense clear-based polish with medium and light pink fine glitter. I loved the application! This is two smooth, lovely, quick drying coats. Man I need more. LOVE!

Puuuurdy!

Next up I have Express Finish Icy Pink layered over Wet N Wild's Think Pink! As both glitters in my post are Express Finish, they are from seperate times/collections and have a different bottle shape/size and labeling. Agh I wish I knew more! The bottle for Icy Pink is smaller, at 12ml when Twinkle Pink is 14.7ml. Curious. Anyhoo, Icy Pink was an aggravating color to pair a base polish with. I swatched several possibilities on a nail wheel. Black looked nice, but far too predictable. I ended up choosing a vibrant pink creme to compliment Icy Pink's pale iridescent glitter and soft pink clear base. I really love the result! This is one coat over Wet N Wild's Think Pink!

I truly love the softness of the glitter!
Here is a quick peek at Think Pink! As old and this Wet N Wild is, the formula was still fabulous!

See ya next week! ;) D

Anna Sui - 420

TGIF!

I love Fridays even more now - my schedule changed at work and I work four ten hour days then have Friday, Saturday, & Sundays off. Love it! I haven't ever had every Friday off. :) Today I have an amazing eBay find and my first Anna Sui polish. From what I could read on the bottle, the only name I know to call this polish is 420, which is fine by me because this polish is so eye-catching it speaks for itself. I'm slowing becoming quite the pink polish lover *gasp* and brights are the ones I'm gravitating towards. Here we go!

420 is just jaw-dropping in appearance and application alike. I wasn't sure what to expect this being my first time trying one of Anna Sui's polishes. Is glided onto the nail so easily I was literally sitting here with my mouth hanging open. I'm talkin' A-England kinda smooth! Almost painted itself. This lovely starts off with a bright, hot pink jelly base and added is pink and silver iridescent glitter. I really love the way hot pink looks with my cool skin-tone, so that's a plus too! I love the bottle as well, the design is great and the top of a cap is a rose shape. This is three amazing coats.

Just stunning!

Isn't the cap adorable?
