Layering Fun - Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers & Etude House WH002

Hello there!

Today I have yet another layering combo to share - and this time the crown jewel of this manicure is a Wet N Wild Wild Fantasy Makers no-name glitter! The infamous Jacqui gifted me two of these never seen glitters back over the holiday seasons, and I'm finally getting around to swatching them. :P (the issues we have owning too much polish LOL!) This glitter is a clear base with turquoise/blue micro glitter and large holo hex glitter. This is two coats over Etuse House's WH002.

As for my base, Etude House WH002 is a silver foily polish with silver glitter. Etude House polish never cease to make me happy and this one was gifted to me by my lovely Twitter pal Radha a ways back. Two coats, easy formula.

Have a great Tuesday! :)

Old and New - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Surfer Girl Frost & Milani Gleaming Green

Hey there!

I somehow managed to find a thrift store here in Virginia Beach that also somehow manages to stock on a semi-regular basis vintage polish. It's a gift from polish Heaven. I've found Street Wears, black label OPI's, vintage Wet N Wild's, and a slew of vintage Hard As Nails. Last weekend I came across this beauty - Surfer Girl Frost - I love discovering new polishes in my travels that I never knew existed and this is one of them! This lovely gold foil came from 2000's Surfer Chic Collection. I can't find any pictures of the collection in it's entirety, but I did find that article with a little info. I NEED to find the rest! *adds to ever-growing wish list* This is two coats of awesome.

That's right, Sally. Do your thing!

Next up I have a great eBay find that I paid a mere three bucks for, shipping included. I'm a big Milani fan. I love their cosmetics and nail polish alike, their quality and colors leave me always wanting more. I had never seen this color before, I'm guessing it came out before I dove head first into polish. Gleaming Green is an odd green. One part murky green-ish and one part vibrant, neon green. Added to the mix is holo bar glitter and micro-glitter. It looks amazing in the bottle, but doesn't translate all the way to the nail. The green seems to cover up all the holo bar goodness. Ah well, still pretty. Two coats.

Awesome, right?
Happy Monday!

Old and New - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Bold Frost & Rimmel Rags To Riches

Happy Sunday, polish lovers!

I hope you are all having a fun weekend - I love any weekend that I have time to have a swatch-a-thon! As I'm sure other bloggers feel the same way, I feel as though I buy so much fast than I can even start to swatch everything. I'm always hundreds behind. I think I may have to purge and have a blog sale soon. Maybe. :P We shall see.

My first beauty to show you today is one of my old Sally Hansen Hard As Nails from the 90s. Here is a wonderful reference guide. I love these polishes SO MUCH, not only because of the matching brush handles (which I LOVE! it's the simple things in life that make me smile.) but the fun and funky colors they came up with back in the day. Bold Frost I believe is one of the older Hard As Nails, so that might put it the the mid 90s. I think. Bold Frost is a wonderful frosty (duh.) lighter blue polish with I think to be, the perfect amount of frostiness. The formula was just a little on the runny side, but three coats and we were in business.

Next up I have one of the newest Rimmel polishes. I only own two of the newer Rimmels - I miss and love the older ones. Star Trek will be on my wishlist until it is mine. *insert maniacal laughter here* Rags To Riches is AMAZING though and once I saw swatches start to pop up I knew I needed this dark olive green foil. It's just stunning and right up my alley for green polish! The brush on these polishes are very wide and scoop-like, I love and I hate it. Haven't decided yet. This is two coats.

Have a wonderful day! -D

Vintage Hardy Candy - Girlie

Hey there!

I hope you all are having a wonderful beginning to the week, I had yesterday off so today is pretty much my Monday. Today I have yet another vintage Hard Candy to share today - this one from my pal Jacqui's blog sale. Her and I share the passion for all things old and discontinued, so I was very excited she had an extra! My collection just keeps growing - it's so exciting! Here is Girlie!

Girlie is a funny name to me - you'd think it would be a bubblegum pink or something of that nature. Leave it to Hard Candy to make a polish with that kind of name a light green foil! I'm a huge foil fan and green is my favorite polish, so this was a win-win with me. I love the green ring as well! :) This is two coats. It really is stunning!

Foil polish goodness!
Do any of you have any vintage Hard Candy polishes? <3Dana

Old and New: Naturistics Super Shine in Midnight Creme & MUA Nail Varnish in shade 13

Happy Saturday!

Today is day one of my vacay! Yay for going home to family, friends, and a NB's meet-up! It's going to be an amazing week! Did I mention an Ulta/Sephora/Lush trip? Eeeeek! So excited! :D Time for an Old and New post as well - and first off I have a vintage Naturistics polish, Midnight Creme. I have an issue with black polish. I'm always on the search for great black cremes. I have way more then any girl should have. This one makes it to maybe the top five? Plus I'm a sucker for vintage Naturistics. :p

Well girls, they sure don't call it Super Shine polish for nothin! SUPER SHINY! This is two coats without a topcoat. Amazing. As some black cremes, the first coat went on a little streaky, but the second evened it all out perfectly. Really an awesome polish. I can see myself reaching for this again and again. I am really a fan of Naturistics polishes - the formula is pleasant and the colors and glitters can be so unique and fun.

Next up I have a polish brand that was completely new to me until I did an epic swap with my lovely blogger friend Esther. I got to try SO MANY new brands from that swap. *happy dance* She sent me three MUA polishes, and since I am a green polish whore (yes, I said it. I have a problem.) I couldn't wait to swatch this vibrant green lil guy. Turns out he is a chrome/foil hybrid that is just amazing! Now I only wish MUA bottle were bigger! Formula was on point, this is two coats.

Oh yea.

Urban Decay - AC/DC

Hello there!

Today I have a wonderful polish that is dear to my heart. First of all, it's vintage Urban Decay. Need I say more? Second? It's from my great friend Jacqui. We did a massive swap/Christmas gift exchange and I got so many amazing treasures. Girl you know me all too well! Here is AC/DC. :)

AC/DC was a favorite polish of mine back in the day. I ALWAYS regret getting rid of all my old polishes years and years ago. As I'm sure we all do. *Kicks self* Ah well. This bad boy is a wonderfully pigmented deep purple and silver metallic foil polish. Could have been a one coater but I never can seem to stop at just one. This is two bad a$$ coats.

BAM! just look at that metallic goodness!

Essence Fairytale Nail Polish - Humpty Dumpty

Happy Saturday!

Since I dove deep down into the world of polish, there are so many collections I missed out on that I really regret! One of them being the entire Fairytale Collection from Essence that came out last winter in December 2010. Recently I found a lone straggler from the collection in a blog sale - Humpty Dumpty! Here he is! :)

Humpty, as I'll choose to call him, is a wonderful lilac toned silver metallic/foil polish. I really fell for him! :P This polish was surprisingly opaque after just one coat, and it was perfect after two! One down from this collection, five to! I've seriously became such a fangirl of Essence's polishes. So much fun and a big bang for your buck!

Old and New - Vintage Hard Candy Fuzz and Wet N Wild Ice Baby's Cost Is No Issue

Happy Hump Day!

Today I'm starting something new on my blog - every other day I'm doing an Old and New post. I have so many great vintage polishes along with newer collections, so I'm mixing them up to introduce two lovlies in one post! Doing one polish a post is just dandy for some, but it's taking me forever to get through my ever-growing stash at the rate I'm going! I think it wil be a fun to see a blast from the past and a new beauty. :p Let's jump right in! First we have a vintage Hard Candy, Fuzz!

Oh, Fuzz, we have been through so much together! I bought you from Sephora over ten years ago for a whopping twelve bucks. I've held onto you all these years and I couldn't be happier that we never parted ways! I lost your heart-shaped rubber ring but all is forgiven, right? :P

It's surprizingly hard to describe Fuzz. It's a tarnished "grainy" metallic polish. Weird way to describe it, right? It's really hard to put it into words! The color is hard too, a dusty neautral gold color. I give up. It's just amazing. That's the right way to describe it. Hehe! :D The formula is perfection still over the years, two coats that were smooth as can be!

Next up for the new polish for this post, we have Cost Is No Issue from Wet N Wild's new Ice Baby collection. This is one of the four I settled on from the eight in the collection, and this may be my favorite!

Cost Is No Issue is a stunning turquoise glitter swimming with blue glitter speckled throughout. Coverage with these Ice Baby glitters have been great so far - two coats over Wet N Wild Nail Zone Hot Springs reached opacity perfection! I had to take my swatches out in the sun, and MAN does this polish really shine!
