Atrophie's Cumulo-Nimbus Franken

Happy Hump Day!

Today I have a lovely franken from Lindsay who runs the lovely blog Yacking About Lacquer. This doll has an amazing blog chock full of great swatches and awesome frankens! Her blog has several links to her Etsy shop. I purchased two frankens and this is the first, Cumulo-Nimbus!

I just adore whimsical polishes like these! I'm not sure where she got the name from (to be honest, I had a hard time reading the label on the bottom so that's what I THINK it's called that! :P) This lovely polish is a sheer grey/lavender polish swimming with iridescent shimmer and hex glitter, giving it a gold/green/blue glow! I love it! This was three coats. Like all glitter polishes of this kind, it was hard to get the hex glitter from bottle to brush to nail.

Old and New - China Glaze Crocodile Lounge & Joe Fresh Fog

Good Morning!

It's time again for my Old and New post! First I have a great - you guessed it - blog sale find! I love finding vintage China Glaze polishes, and Crocodile Lounge was a happy addition to my collection!

Crocodile Lounge is a muted lime green frosty shimmer polish. As I said before with my Street Wear Prissy polish, these frosty polishes were so popular in the 90's and early 00's and they really embody beauty in that time period! As gorgeous and glowing as CL is, I can't wait to try and layer this bad boy - serious potential. This was three layers.

Next up I have one of the polishes from my first Joe Fresh order! A lovely doll on Twitter helped me get my on this polish Fog, Slate, and TWILIGHT! AGH, I know right?!?! A pic heavy post will follow shortly! :P Fog was the first of the three I swatched. I loved it so much I'm wearing it as a full manicure as we speak. :) This is from their fall line this year.

Joe Fresh as a pretty impressive formulas, the first coat goes on a little streaky, but the second smooths it out perfectly. Fog is a wonderful stone grey polish, myself being a grey polish fanatic I am in love! This was two coats.

Hey girlies!

I am soooooo excited and proud to show you my new layering genius! I love the overwhelming surprise when you realize that what looked like a relatively pretty polish in the bottle turns out to be a drool worthy stunner! That's exactly what happened when I purchased a few polishes grouped together in a blog sale. I had never tried Barry M polishes before, and it was included with two Wet N Wild vintage polishes. I could tell the polish was older - everything on outside of the bottle was worn off - and there was a handwritten sticker on the bottom that simply stated "Aqua Green". Whether or not that's really this puppy's name - once I layered it over a dark polish, I couldn't believe my eyes!

I don't know where to start other than WOWZA!!! I mean, JUST LOOK AT IT! This pearl finished duochrome flashes from a seafoam green, bright lime green, and a light blue. In some light it even flashes purple! I tried my hardest to capture all the colors in different kinds of lights but pictures just don't do this baby justice! In person I couldn't stop staring at my nails. AMAZING! I was drooling! :P This was two coats.

Underneath all this is three coats of OPI's Here Today Aragon Tomorrow, a deep, dark green  creme/jelly polish. I'm a sucker for green polishes, they are amoung my favorites! Make it was vampy green polish and I'm all for it! After finally getting this lovely on my nails, I couldn't remember what took me so long to get it on my fingertips in the first place! :)

Old and New - Revlon Street Wear Prissy and Zoya Buffy

*Waves* Hey!

Today I just couldn't help myself - I had to show you another Street Wear! Today I have Prissy, an ultra frosty pale pink/lavender polish that really embodies the era it came from, man frosts were so popular back then! I also had to throw in my namesake polish for the favorite heroine - Zoya's Buffy. Here we go!

Prissy is a very romantic polish. I don't dislike this color, it's just very dated for it's time! I used to go ga-ga for these kinds of polishes. It's still very pretty, and the formula was smooth but with all frosts, it's hard to avoid brush strokes. Either way, IT'S A STREET WEAR! :D

Next up I have Buffy! And yes, Buffy The Vampire Slayers is one of my favorite TV shows of ALL TIME! So, of course, I needed this! Next on my Zoya list? Willow! :p

Buffy is a great shimmery blond color - perfection for it's name sake! It was a little hard to apply without showing any brush strokes, patience was needed when applying the two coats!

China Glaze Snow Globe over Deborah Lippman Dark Side Of The Moon

Hello, darlings!

Today I have two fantastic polishes to show off on my fingertips today - China Glaze Let It Snow's Snow Globe and Deborah Lippman's Dark Side Of The Moon - aka a match made in Heaven. Sorry to cut this post short, but I'm exhausted!

Snow Globe is endless layering possibilities! I decided on a nice deep, rich color to layer underneath. Dark Side Of The Moon was a great match. :) I know Snow Globe was previously released by China Glaze, but since I was addicted to polish then. Hence, it's new to me and I love it! It's stunning, glowing and a rainbow of colors. I'm sold! This was two coats. 

Underneath is one of my all-time favorite vampy polishes, Deborah Lippman's Dark Side Of The Moon. A deep, dark purple creme polish is timeless!

Old and New - Revlon Street Wear Exposed and Zoya's Sooki

Morning!

It's that time again for my Old and New post! I recently came across a few Revlon Street Wears at a thrift store here in Virginia Beach. I'm not going to lie. I Almost peed my pants. :P Why you may ask? THEY WERE 99 CENTS! The polish Gods smiled on me that day for sure! I am wishing and hoping that Revlon re-releases Street Wears. I want them all. Every. Single. One. Here is Exposed. 

Exposed is my kind of color - bronze, chrome and a tiny bit frosty! It really warmed up my complexion and I love the way it looked on me. Oddly enough, I owned some Street Wears back in the day, and I really think I had this one! I swear! :P Every time I look online for Street Wears pics, I end up falling asleep having happy polish dreams of how amazing polish used to be when I was a teenager. BRING THEM BACK, REVLON! BRING THEM BACK! Two even coats.

As I know I said before with Essie's Jelly Apple, I'm getting back to my roots of my beloved red polish! Sooki is a cool-toned red creme, almost jelly polish. It has a great, crisp feel to it, reminds me of a tomato! It applied great, this is two coats. I'm glad I suckered myself into buying this summer red beauty. This is two coats.

Etude House - Black Holo

Happy Turkey Day!


Today I have yet another blog sale find. I have to admit that I have become addicted to buying from blog sale, I love them so much! I even got a chance to try a new brand for the very first time, Etude House! Here is Black Holo.

First of all, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the bottle! It's so detailed and intricate and the shape is awesome! The formula was smooth and butter and so easy to control! It was flawless and I fell in love! My only complaint - the holo goodness in the bottle doesn't nearly transition well to the nail. I shook and shook and ran the brush along the inside of the bottle but it just didn't have the same bang. It's still a scattered holo, just very scarce. I was disappointed, but not enough that I won't reach for this polish again. It's still very pretty, just not as beautiful as I though. That doesn't deter me one bit though - I can't wait to try other Etude House polishes! This was two coats.

Old and New - Vintage Hard Candy Fuzz and Wet N Wild Ice Baby's Cost Is No Issue

Happy Hump Day!

Today I'm starting something new on my blog - every other day I'm doing an Old and New post. I have so many great vintage polishes along with newer collections, so I'm mixing them up to introduce two lovlies in one post! Doing one polish a post is just dandy for some, but it's taking me forever to get through my ever-growing stash at the rate I'm going! I think it wil be a fun to see a blast from the past and a new beauty. :p Let's jump right in! First we have a vintage Hard Candy, Fuzz!

Oh, Fuzz, we have been through so much together! I bought you from Sephora over ten years ago for a whopping twelve bucks. I've held onto you all these years and I couldn't be happier that we never parted ways! I lost your heart-shaped rubber ring but all is forgiven, right? :P

It's surprizingly hard to describe Fuzz. It's a tarnished "grainy" metallic polish. Weird way to describe it, right? It's really hard to put it into words! The color is hard too, a dusty neautral gold color. I give up. It's just amazing. That's the right way to describe it. Hehe! :D The formula is perfection still over the years, two coats that were smooth as can be!

Next up for the new polish for this post, we have Cost Is No Issue from Wet N Wild's new Ice Baby collection. This is one of the four I settled on from the eight in the collection, and this may be my favorite!

Cost Is No Issue is a stunning turquoise glitter swimming with blue glitter speckled throughout. Coverage with these Ice Baby glitters have been great so far - two coats over Wet N Wild Nail Zone Hot Springs reached opacity perfection! I had to take my swatches out in the sun, and MAN does this polish really shine!
