Bridesmaids Nails by Impress

Hello!

It may be Tuesday to the rest of you, but for me today is Monday! I just got back from an excellent five day trip home to Ohio to be in one of my best friends Tammy's wedding. It was beautiful, I cried, I danced, I got to hang out with the lovely Rie from Nails and Noms. We had a sushi/shopping double date with the boys and got to dance our butts off together at the wedding. Now we just need to work on this living too far away from each other thing LOL! :D It was a great weekend and a wedding I will cherish forever in my heart. <3

ONTO THE NAILS! I had heard so many good things about the Impress fake nails. Since the other gals in the wedding were going to wear them, I thought I'd give them a shot. I couldn't find a simple french manicure, so I went with black with silver "crackle". I will be reaching for Impress over and over again for fancy events in the future! I wore them for FOUR DAYS. FOUR. Not ONE fell off. I had a wedding all day, and moved boxes a couple of times yesterday and today. Those puppies weren't going anywhere. Not even a break. In fact, they were a little stubborn to get off LOL! I highly recommend them.

Coolest chick ever! :D Rie & I.
Have a great day!

Pro 10 Camouflage: One of my new favorite greens!

What's up dolls?!

We all know I love green polish. It's my absolute favorite and it always has been, even as a teenager. Finding new awesome greens to drool over is like Christmas every time LOL! :D I randomly bought Pro 10's Camouflage on eBay (Two bucks. Beat THAT.) and I knew it was gorgeous from bottle shots I'd seen but DAAANG! It's so much more amazing. Pictures almost do this polish no justice, IRL it just shines! Swimming within this green stunner is golden shimmer that really makes it POP. (You'll have to see the bottle shot at the end of the post to see for yourself.) This is three coats, it was a little sheer. *Adds to list of greens I die for* :)

So awesome.

Urban Decay - Kiss

Hey loves!

Who's ready to see the newest addition to my old Urban Decay collection? YOU DOOOO?! Great, because I have a juicy pink to share - Kiss! Kiss is just in-your-face bright pink goodness. Makes me think of Madonna in the 80's LOL! For a jelly polish, this one almost a one-coater but I went with  two just in case. The matching pink shimmer adds even more fun. Great summer polish. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Have a great day!

Essence Snow White Collection Part 3: The Huntsman, Snow White, & Bashful

Hi there!

It's time for day 3 of the Snow White Collection!

Today's glitter is definitely the unique one of the bunch - The Huntsman. It was very thick, but in no way unmanageable. There are a few things I just LOVE about this polish - it has two tones of gold in the glitter. The micro glitter is a darker gold then the hex glitter, which is lighter. Thrown is the mix are irregular rectangular/triangular shards of polish that make it the unique beauty it is. This is two coats over Snow White.

We all know how much I love red polish. It's my favorite right under green. I knew there was a red in this collection, but I didn't know it was a JELLY!!! Oh I still am so excited about this polish! Snow White is a vibrant tomato red polish that has a great tone for summer. Reds tend to look great with my skin tone (just sayin' LOL :P) and this one is no exception. Three coats, although next time I will wear it with two. I want the jellyness to shine through a little more.

Now. Here is my about FAVORITE polish in the entire stinking collection - Bashful. The promo pics for this collection were so misleading since they didn't show off any of the glitters or shimmers. Of course I knew there was a green, but what I DIDN'T know was it had gold shimmer!!! Formula was as perfect Sneezy. Like Buttah! Two coats. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

OMG. RIIIGHT?!
Only one day left!

Layering Fun - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Cyber & Naturistics Lime Aboard Creme

Hello!

Remember when I promised to show off all seven of my Sally Hansen Hard As Nails holo glitters? Time for the second one - Cyber. This is the one I definitely wanted the most. (Other then Magnet. Bright blue. Still need.) I still can't get over how awesome these are with their hold glitter, colored base, and matching handles. :)

Cyber is a lime green sheer based polish with holo glitter. These are all very sheer, so I'd say they're all best for layering. This is two coats over Naturistics Lime Aboard Creme. Wait until you see what color it was originally - Cyber completely changed up the color!

Here's the underwear of the manicure - Lime Aboard Creme! Look at how different the base color is without Cyber. It has almost more of a mint green feeling mixed in with a lime green tone. Three coats for evenness.

What do ya think? :P

Essence Snow White Collection Part 2: Prince Charming, Sleepy, & Sneezy

Hello again!

It's time for day two for Essence's Snow White Collection!

First up for today's post I have my favorite glitter topcoat from the collection, Prince Charming. The formula was the best with this one. I love the whimsical feel this polish lends to the mix, it definitively reminds me of Prince Charming for sure! This clear-based polish starts off with fine silver and holo glitter with large blue hex glitter. This is one coat over Sleepy.

And now we have Sleepy, a pastel blue polish with bright blue shimmer swimming within. I love the color, reminds me of Spring, but the formula was tough. Without the right base coat (I used Seche Base) It spotted like that new OPI polish. This is three coats for evenness.

SHIMMAH!
Next I have Sneezy, a fantastic cocoa brown polish with silver micro fine glitter. Formula was ON POINT. PERFECT. This polish reminds me of smooth milk chocolate. I really like this one. :)

Yummy!
Stay tuned for day 3!

1 YEAR BLOGAVERSARY! China Glaze - Cat's Eye

Good morning!

I can't believe it, but today Polished Claws Up! turns 1! I've met so many amazing girls, learned so much about polish, & BOUGHT so much polish in the last year it makes my lil heart burst! Thank you all for joining me on this crazy ride, and I can't wait to venture even deeper in the world of polish with you! I had something special in my mind for this day, but we are leaving to go to Ohio for one of my best friends wedding & didn't have time. I do however have a great polish to share today so don't worry! :P <3

Today I have a fantastic polish to share today and one that I was so happy to recently check off my wishlist - China Glaze's Cat's Eye. If there's one thing I've learned from hunting for old and discontinued polish - it's to wait for the right time to buy. Prices go up and down all the time and even if you miss it, you'll always come across it on eBay or blog sales again. I had seen listings for Cat's Eye but the prices were too steep. Tada! A few weeks back I found it for the right price.

Cat's Eye is a GLOWING olive green and golden polish that has such a rich, edgy feel to it! The formula was thin, so this is three coats. I love how it different lighting it switches from the green and gold being more prominent. It's such a great polish that was worth the wait.

Patience pays off with polish!

Essence Snow White Collection Part 1: Evil Queen, Dopey, & Doc

Hey polish lovahs!

Today starts day one of four where I get to show off the entire Snow White Collection by Essence! It's been a long time as a vintage polish collector that I've fallen head over heels for a collection and gotten each and every polish. (Although HELLLLO Zoya Diva Collection! You will all be mine!) I'm one of the biggest Disney fans out there, so of course this was a must for me! The lovely and always amazing Sabine hunted down each and every one for me - I'm so thankful! *Sending Sabine a big virtual hug* Thanks again, girl!

First up for today I have a glitter to share - Evil Queen. Evil Queen is a clear-based polish with large purple hex glitter. I love the brushes on the glitters for all of them, one clean swoop has my nail covered. The glitter is a litter sparse on this one, I had to move the glitter around to place them where I wanted. I thought it turned out great! This is only one coat over Dopey- who's up next!

Dopey has been and will always remain as one of my favorite Disney characters to date! He's just so goofy and lovable. Dopey in this case is a pale, pastel lavender polish with silver micro glitter. I loved the formula on almost all of these, but this one seriously tested my patience. It was soooo runny! It pooled and took three coats to get it to where you see here. Not that it really matters - just LOOK how beautiful it is!

GLITTAH!
Next up I have Doc. I love me a good bright orange creme polish and this does not disappoint! The formula on this was great. I'm thinking pedicure color for sure! Two coats.

I hope you enjoyed day one - stay tuned for 2 through 4!

Quick NOTD - China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard

Hello everyone!

I have a quick recent NOTD to share on this fine Monday - I'm With The Lifeguard from China Glaze's Summer Neons 2012 collection. This is the lone polish I ended up nabbing from this collection. I heard so many amazing things about this neon green stunner, and since I'm so in love with my Limonyte (Eeek!) I knew it needed a buddy. As much as I love I'm With The Lifeguard, it just doesn't hold a candle to Limonyte. Still pretty, but the shimmer just ain't the same! This is two coats. Still a great summer green!

Have a good Monday!

Layering Fun - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hologem & Ulta3 Blue Marlin

HEY.

Who is ready for the first of many of my new Sally Hansen Hard As Nails holo glitters?! I have had this entire collection at the tippy-top of my wishlist FOREVER. Jacqui recently found an eBay seller that has them so naturally I snagged all seven they had. :P Magnet (bright blue holo glitter!) will still be mine one day! Today I have Hologem to share - a clear based polish with two different sizes of silver holo glitter. The layering possibilities are endless! This is two coats over Ulta3's Blue Marlin.

Next up I have a pretty underwear of this mani - Ulta3's Blue Marlin. The lovely Lauren sent me this vibrant medium blue jelly polish from Australia. I love Ulta3 polishes so much - for a cheapie brand they really pack a punch. Two coats.

Enjoy your day! <3
